Their colours never grew on me, but they appear to have learnt. Fortunately, some excellent (some refurbished) Park Inns appearing now, check for example the new interior of the PI Lubeck http://media.holidaycheck.com/data/u...1169072807.jpg or the PI Luxembourg http://app.visitluxembourg.com/image...668x445x90.jpg

Radisson Detroit-Farmington Hills

- What is your Club Carlson status?
Gold

- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Standard king, upgraded to king jacuzzi suite.

- Did you receive elite benefits?
Welcome gift: Basket with hand-written note, M&Ms, local chips and local soda (Faygo)

- How are the rooms?
Nice and big, a true suite. Enormous jacuzzi tub. Will be dated in a few years.

- What was good and what was bad?
Nothing bad. The location is very convenient right next to 696. For those interested, it is literally across the street from the Holocaust Memorial Center, you could walk there.

- Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
Yes, this hotel is only 9,000 points, and I have to credit card so 4,500 per night! An absolute steal compared to most other hotels in the area.

Radisson Blu, Odense, Denmark

What is your Club Carlson status?
Gold

Where did you stay? (Brand, Location, Country)
Radisson Blu, Odense, Denmark

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
NO.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Standard. No upgrade.

Did you receive elite benefits?
Complimentary Room Upgrade - No, despite very low load factor.
Early Check In/Late Check Out - No, did not ask, not needed
In-Room Welcome Gift - No

How are the rooms?
Fairly OK size but VERY dated, VERY dull, and worn bathroom

What was good and what was bad?
Good: Free breakfast for all guests. Friendly check-in staff. Centrally located.
Bad: Everything else. Absolute zilch elite recognition.

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
No.
I think I hit the worst Radisson Blu property in Europe. 38k points or the high DKK rates exceeding 100€ even on lowest rates makes this a robbery.

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
Paid. Very expensive for what you get. Probably will not return.

Radisson Blu Old Mill, Belgrade (Beograd), Serbia

What is your Club Carlson status?
Gold

Where did you stay?
Radisson Blu Old Mill, Belgrade

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
I booked a standard room and was given a business class room.

Did you receive elite benefits?
Besides the upgrade I received breakfast (which is a benefit of the biz class room but I have been upgraded before without the breakfast benefit, so I consider this separate). There was also a welcome gift of some really nice chocolates and three tangerines.

How are the rooms?
The room was fantastic. The pictures on the website give an indication, but the physical property is one of the nicest in the system--wood textures, concrete textures, great work desk, heated wood floors in the bathroom, rain shower, etc. Good size, too.

What was good and what was bad?
Wifi was the best I have ever had in any hotel anywhere--blazingly fast. Breakfast was great; not a huge selection but high quality items (like fresh squeezed OJ, cold cuts, cheeses) and choice of hot items that the kitchen will make for you. Very nice fitness center (with sauna) that isn't too crowded (but then again, it might be tough if there were more than 10-15 people at a time since it's kind of small). Airport pick-up service is 20 Euro in a nice Passat (with water) whereas a cab will run you about 15 Euros so the premium is worth it. GREAT service by the bellhops/drivers. They are really friendly and a true asset to the hotel.
Location is OK (near the Sajam/fair) but an easy cab ride to most places people need to be.

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
Great value for the money. I think I paid around 77 Euro advance purchase. Definitely one of the top hotels in Belgrade and one of the top city Radissons in Europe for my money.

Radisson Blu Bucharest

What is your Club Carlson status?
Gold

Where did you stay? (Brand, Location, Country)
Radisson Blu, Bucharest, Romania

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked biz class, received biz class

Did you receive elite benefits?
Complimentary Room Upgrade - No
Early Check In/Late Check Out - n/a
In-Room Welcome Gift - Yes--three plates of cookies

How are the rooms?
Okay.

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
--In the center of town
--nice biz class lounge with appetizers in the evening and a good selection of drinks after 11 a.m.
--the pool area is pretty and the lobby is visually quite pleasing
--the breakfast buffet is good (omelet station)

Bad:
--I got the impression that the check-in staff wanted to make sure I got the minimum and nothing more. I was on two rates (a second night free redemption and a paid stay). Both biz class rooms but the person checking me in asked three times was my paid rate the same so I could keep the same room for the whole stay. I got the impression that if I had booked a mix of room classes that they would have made me move.
--The stall shower in the bathroom was tiny and leaked all over the floor.

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
This hotel is consistently one of the most expensive in Budapest. The Hilton across the street is often 30% less and the rooms are better. Since as a HHonors gold I get an upgraded room and lounge access thrown in, there is no reason to stay at the Radisson once the last night free on redemptions with the card goes away.

Where did you stay? (Brand, Location, Country)
Radisson Blu, Arlanda airport, Sweden

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard, received business class. Same upgrade got when was Gold.

Did you receive elite benefits?
Complimentary Room Upgrade - yes
Early Check In/Late Check Out - not needed
In-Room Welcome Gift - nothing (same as last 3 times)

How are the rooms?
Got the room end of the hallway on the 4th floor (entry floor). Windows to two directions, airport terminal/gates and outside the terminal. Spacey room and very clean.

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
-Location, location, location. Literally in the terminal.
-Quiet rooms
-size of the business class rooms
-breakfast buffet
- friendly staff

Bad:
- slow check-in at 11pm despite 2 clerks

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
Room rate is quite high but travelling to Stockholm centre was not an option. Also location is something I am willing to pay some premium.

Radisson Blu Royal, Brussels

What is your Club Carlson status?
Concierge

Where did you stay? (Brand, Location, Country)

Radisson Blu Royal, Brussels, Belgium

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard, received executive suite

Did you receive elite benefits?
Complimentary Room Upgrade - yes
Early Check In/Late Check Out - not needed
In-Room Welcome Gift - nothing

How are the rooms?
Very spacious executive suite with separate living and bedroom (possibility to have extra room next to the living room). View to the street but still very quiet room. Separate toilet and bathroom with bath. TV with lots of channels (if anyone watches those anymore is another story).

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
-Room that could fit 4 persons without problems
- Free minibar (non-alcoholic drinks only)
- Free access to 7th floor lounge with limited beverages and some snacks
- Free in-room breakfast that was basic but worked for me. No hot foods though.
- Clean rooms and windows one could see out
- Helpful staff and especially concierge
- Good location near Grande Palace and other tourist attractions

Bad:
- Minor but mention it anyway: would have preferred wooden floor instead of carpet in the room.

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
Good value, would return if in city.

Park Inn Luxembourg

What is your Club Carlson status?
Gold

Where did you stay? (Brand, Location, Country)
Park Inn by Radisson Luxembourg

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard with C&P, think I received superior (there was a bathrobe... and it was top floor with good view)

Did you receive elite benefits?
Complimentary Room Upgrade - yes
Early Check In/Late Check Out - no early CKI possible
In-Room Welcome Gift - no
Other - CKI informed us that we could enjoy complimentary breakfast

How are the rooms?
Rooms follow either a red, green or blue colour scheme. Modern and functional, liked it. Unfortunately a noisy air conditioning even when switched off in-room, and the midnight shower next door was disturbing my sleep

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
C&P rate provided good value, would return if in city.
Complimentary breakfast of high quality, easily beating the LUX Doubletree Hilton's breakfast (where I stayed the night before).
Very friendly and helpful staff.

Park Inn Glasgow City Centre

What is your Club Carlson status?
Gold

Where did you stay? (Brand, Location, Country)
Park Inn Glasgow City Centre

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked family room and eventually received it. Had to switch rooms after being placed in a standard room (1 bed for 4 people). No upgrade.

Did you receive elite benefits?
None.

How are the rooms?
Large and quite okay. Nothing great but it met my expectations.

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
We booked with points and paid 47500 for the family room. We are burning the last of our CC points and were not too concerned with value as it was a last minute booking due to a change in plans.

I think I hit the worst Radisson Blu property in Europe. 38k points or the high DKK rates exceeding 100€ even on lowest rates makes this a robbery.
They also forgot to post the points. Maybe they don't know at all what is Club Carlson here.

You haven't seen the non-renovated rooms in the Blu Lillehammer, haven't you? Every youth hostel is better than that. Even the refurbished rooms are crappy and not up to any modern standard. Combine this with crazy Norwegian prices and you're good to go for a really frustrating stay.

Anyway, the worst stay of my Club Carlson time was at the Radisson Blu in Salzburg.
