Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Which routes have Qsuites?

I know exactly what you're talking about; however, IMO it has more to do with the large number of items that they're tasked with during boarding. Greet at door, walk passenger to seat, offer to take coat, offer (and fetch) hot/cold towel, offer (and fetch) PDB, distribute/explain menus, distribute amenity kits, start to take food preference orders (if boarding takes long enough), etc. They have much more to do on QR than on other carriers; and, IME, they usually pull it off quite well.

Wow, these expectations seem to me to be out of line. I am very impressed that they made an effort to serve you that late, and didn't flatly reject your request for 20 min before landing.. If you don't get PJs or lounge access, you don't get PJs or lounge access. In what way are these service failures?

Neither expectations nor service failures, simply observations on otherwise very memorable segments. But please do read my post a little more carefully. I didn't ask for the 20 minutes, it was what was offered......

Ah, OK, they said they could do 20 min before landing, but served it ~20 min before the seat belt sign went on. This seems reasonable. You shouldn't be eating 20 min before landing, when the seat belt is on or about to go on. Seems like they made an effort, which is more than most airlines would have done.

No need to chastise others for their posts, especially when your wording was far from clear and easily says what was assumed. You might try using grammar and sentence structure to communicate more accurately what you want to say.

Next time, try this:
I asked for the fruit breakfast to be delivered at the last possible moment. The flight attendant told me that that would be 20 mins before landing.
See? No ambiguity.

I think that’s because B is closer to the sliding door, which is harder to be seen from the aisle as compared to K. I had the same feeling too, especially the B seat is indeed not as far from the window as expected.

QSuite advice

I’m looking for some advice please. We are a family of four (two children of 10 and 12) flying Qatar for the first time in a few weeks ARN/DOH/SIN return. We have one 787, one A350-1000 qsuite, one A350-900 non qsuite and one A350-900 qsuite. For the Q suite flights we’ve got seats at the window at the moment. Are we better to keep these seats or try out the quad on one or both of the flights (looks like the quads are blocked according to experflyer). They are both daytime flights. Many thanks, RF.

Since you are a family of four, I'd suggest calling QR and asking for a quad. Why not enjoy your own private space?

I know this is common. But I am flying DOH-CDG next week. First was scheduled as Qsuite, recently changed to A380 so I got two window seats. Today the ac is changed to A359 without Qsuites and our chosen seats on A380 (which exist on A350) have been changed again to middle seats. Departure has also been changed by 40min.
This is typical of QR and not surprising. But painful to have to keep checking constantly.

You could create an ExpertFlyer aircraft change alert (which should alert you if the aircraft stays the same but the seating configuration changes as well as if the aircraft changes) and a schedule change alert.

Indeed, it is very useful.
I have many flights booked and I have missed this one.
But even with the alert, the constant changing process is painful.I have 7 active segments and keep getting alerts.
And a last minute change is always in the cards. Like discovering that your A350 with Qsuites is finally operated by a non-Qsuites A350 with weird seat reassignment.

I've noticed similar events happening to my alerts for QR740 on 11 October. It keeps on switching between the 77L and 77W, although wouldn't QR have to weight restrict the 77W to operate the flight?

Booked Qsuites!

My wife and I are on DOH-ORD in a couple weeks and currently have 3EF selected. I was wondering if anyone has experience with the final row/minicabin (11EF on the 77W), where there is no quad configuration so it seems more private but is also right next the galley/lavs. Thanks!

Just changed my AA J Award from MCI-ORD-DOH-MLE to MCI-DFW-IAH-DOH-MLE. One extra segment but a couple hours longer in the QSuite
