Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Just about to board the 7.40am DOH - MAN flight and the normal A359 with standard configuration has been swapped out for a Qsuite plane - excited to find out which (only sampled the 773 LHR - DOH Qsuite). Not sure if a regular change just yet.

Definitely makes up for my LHE - DOH flight being changed to a standard configuration plane without notice...! Here’s hoping for an A35K...

A359 A7-ALY tasked with taking us home. Was hoping to see a newer plane but not complaining either way!

It's a pad designed for the purpose and fits in the space, it still feels lumpy though so if you have a double bed all to yourself it is not comfortable to sleep diagonally across both beds. It still works well for a couple.

No, but on my ARN-DOH, the crew offered to make up the empty double bed next to me... although, tbh, after a long day and dinner, and only a short 6hr flight, I just reclined and slept in my allocated seat (which was great, so no complaints)

Also on the same flight, I saw the quad being used by 4 guys travelling together... It was sociable while they had dinner, but looked a bit of a squeeze, if I'm honest... I certainly wouldn't want to be sleeping at such close quarters with any of my colleagues!

Yesterday I booked flights for March/April and they are showing the Qsuites map on QR website. The pair seats were not blocked so chose rear facing 3EF from DOH-SIN and front facing 4DG for the HKG-DOH flight. Hope they stick as it will be our first time on Qsuites. Thanks for the tips

I also booked DOH-SIN but for September. It's QR946 flight and to my surprise, as for now, it has qsuites as well . Of course, I'm aware that qsuite is not guaranteed until I sit in it but at least I may say that I've reserved it (3K)
Additionally, as mentioned earlier, upgrade of J product to qsuites is in progress, so considering that my flight is in 10 months, my chances seem to be quite high, don't they?

I got it on the 777 but not the A359. And Qsuites are definitely more spacious on 777 than A350. Not surprising given difference in cabin width.

My friend was really unlucky because he was supposed to be on a 'Qsuite' aircraft for both DOH MUC and DOH HKG but it was a last minute aircraft change.

He found out that he was on the same aircraft for both routes. It is A7-BAB. He was told that it was due to low passengers in business class in both routes.

Wow, I'm flying MNL-DOH-FRA return in a couple of weeks (before FRA switches to A380 in March). I have zero hope of getting QSuites on the MNL-DOH-MNL segments, so any swap will be a pleasant surprise but I am hoping to get get QSuites on the DOH-FRA-DOH segments where QSuites is supposed to be guaranteed on the 77P. Never flown QSuites before so a sub on those sectors would be a disappointment.

Looking at the FR24 history of HKG flights, on a supposedly guaranteed QSuites route, there are quite a few flights operated with non-QSuites aircraft.

Any feedback on the back facing QSuites on the window side? As an advantage, the seat is closer to the window and the little stand is on the outside, easier to access for the FA and get a drink/pick up an empty glass (as opposed to reaching over to get it). For take-off and landing, as the plane pitches up, does it feel like you're leaning forward?

I prefer backwards near-window seats. Feels more spacious and you can get easy access in and out.

I've flown only once in QSuites (but I have an all QSuite itinerary coming up, IAD-DOH-BKK!!), and it was in 1A. I found it quite comfortable, with no sensation of falling forward on takeoff or landing. Since I always prefer a window seat, it may be quite some time before I try a forward facing QSuite.

Which is precisely why there isn't a list of guaranteed QSuite flights in the WIKI.

Until more QSuite frames are delivered, frequencies and rosters will continue changing.
