Hi folks!

I'm a newbie for QR, have never had a flight with QR or even registered in QR PC (mix Avios and AA for my One World travels). However this promotion looks pretty tempting for me. Can you have a look whether I have correct understanding of the rules.

It looks for me that I can complete promo in just 2 RT tickets.

Ticket 1. Simple RT.
20JUL Moscow - Doha - Colombo - got Badge 1 (Adventures) and 5,000/10,000 miles bonus (Y/C)
05AUG Colombo - Doha - Moscow - got Badge 2 (Metropolitan) and 5,000/10,000 miles bonus (Y/C)

Ticket 2. A little less simple RT.
20DEC Stockholm - Doha - Ho Chi Minh - got Badge 3 (Culinary) and 5,000/10,000 miles bonus (Y/C)
16JAN Bangkok - Doha - Copenhagen - got Badge 4 (Culture) and 5,000/10,000 miles bonus (Y/C)

Total: 4 badges, i.e. promo completed.

Correct=)?

PS. Is there an active promo for new members?

Indeed, you are correct. Envious, not many are able to travel as much as you are doing there

EDIT: about active promos for new members, there's a recurring one that awards you 2k Qmiles for your first booking through Qatar's website, 500 Qmiles for subsequent bookings.

Has anyone worked out how to register for this yet? It's as if QR have got the hapless clowns from the EY promotions/offers department to run this for them!

There is (or at least was before I clicked on it) a "Register" button for the Adventurous Getaway offer - "Pack your bags for an Adventurous Getaway Earn bonus Qmiles and travel badge".

I didn't take part last year but does anyone who did recall having to register for each phase/badge? I don't get a warm and fuzzy feeling about this at all!

The acid test will surely be whether you get the promised 250 miles for registering for that specific part of the promo rather than the whole shebang (which at this rate may never have a link for registering). Then again, I wonder how long they will take to post...

Good point, Cheetah_SA! I will keep an eye out for the bonus 250 Qmiles. You'll be glad to hear I booked my adventurous getaway to JNB (onwards to Botswana yet again).

Excellent. Don't tell them it's humdrum for you - they'll disqualify you!

I'm usually thrilled when I can fly direct from CPT and don't have to fly via JNB. But now I'm gutted to miss out on the extra miles!

C'on just 2 RT within almost 10 months, that require careful planning .

Thanks! Good! So let's say +2500 miles on top (if booking directly).

As long as these 4 destinations are not in your home country (as registered in your PC account), it should be OK. If one or more of these destinations are in your home country, there's a bit of risk for not obtaining all 4 badges as last year QR excluded destinations in home country from the promo. This year they don't really mention about this but, at least for me, I am still in doubt. I wrote to ask them about this but still hasn't received reply.
