I've been following this official and now trademarked thread, the aptly named Bling.Ding.Dong.™ thread for several days. Finally getting a grip on the Blings and Dings not to mention the dreaded Dongs. Feeling pretty cocky, actually.
And then the worst happens. :eek: Another thread named Dong,Ding,Bling appears virtually out of nowhere. And now I have to track TWO threads to find out where that astute Ding zing post was made by X or the erudite Bling discourse was made by Y.
I think I've got this worked out mentally for now but am dreading the inevitable ( which could strike at any moment!): The Ding.Bling.Dong thread...... :confused:

And to the Evangelist that dinged me with negative and quite cowardly IMHO left negatives to others but signed my handle to them...I can't say I'm at all surprised. :(

Nothing less than forgery and a form of libel, IMHO. :(

A couple red squares. One from someone already tossed out (no real surprise, except that I can't figure out why he took the trouble to waste one of his three "wishes" on me) and the other a surprise as well - I never would have expected it. Maybe we should talk.

And one unhappy surprise - a person who deserves to have mega-rep is shooting blanks. I can only assume the person was ganged up on.

Those things seem to have gotten straightened out rather quickly. A mod sent me a blank near the beginning but he now has two chicklets.

I know that I dropped to 10 points for a day or two but also got back up.

The ganging up was never very effective. When all of us had very few rep points, 3 or 4 people, in concert, could have us shooting blanks. Of course, they could not repeat this for at least 17 days and by that time most of us had enough points so the ganging up didn't matter.

I have only been gonged (the grey box, which I now understand means nothing) once! I guess I need to post more!!!!

I can tell my "very, very sad" story: I "started" this repuation game at -11 or -14 (I've lost track) due to being dinged out of the gate by a "Legend", his wife (whom I've never had an interaction with), and his son (also whom I've never had an interaction with). In some cases these dings were for posts more than a year old... :rolleyes:

I think the startup value should have been at something like 50 to prevent stuff like this. Kind of like the "no screw the dealer" rule in euchre. :)

I never did like that rule. In fact, when the blonde who was dealing told me about it I immediately left. From that day on, I have avoided Euchre and played only in Vegas or Atlantic City.
