Nope, we can only see 10. Dan just turned on the feature for 10 this morning in response to a thread by wharvey in the Technical Issues forum. Requests for more need to be made there.

I am only seeing 10 also  , then again, I have like 300 dings (well deserved, might I add)

skofarrell Apr 26, 2004 1:42 pm

Well I guess "d-day" is a non event as my last 10 are all signed.

Next topic?

Heh heh... the big reveal is a big hint to me about someone who has been using a fake handle for a long, long time... un-retired it just to ding me.

Gotta go, I'm watching for the black helicopters... ;)

Well, the one that has given me the dings (yes, plural :)) is exactly the one I thought it was, so no surprises there ;). Had to turn it back on just to check.

And I'll make up for the one "ding" I gave to ScottC for testing purposes by giving him a "bling" when I can do it again (seems like you can only do it a few times a day).

Ding-a-bling-dong-dingeling...

Not much fun, my last 10 were blings, and 9 were signed.

It was nice to find out who called me "daddy"

I forgive you :)

Besdies that, you were only worth 7 dingers anyway :)

Dovster Apr 26, 2004 1:52 pm

I am deeply disappointed.

Of my last 10, 5 were blings. The other five were all grey boxes. Two of those included nice comments and the remaining three had no comment at all.

THIS MEANS I CAN'T THROW A CHILDISH TEMPER TANTRUM AND RUN TO COMPLAIN TO RANDY!

Oh well, maybe I can complain to him about that.

LOL ;)

How can I raise my bling-o-meter?

Looks like I went up like 25 points after your bling!

By the way, I think I'm gonna keep this thing on...yeah it might be divisive, but it kind of adds entertainment ;)...and now that people cannot ding anonymously anymore, maybe they'll be a little more careful about coming back and just giving dings and anonymous rolleyes...like a certain someone did with me... :D

Well so much for the written Admin promise that ALL reputation would be revealed.

"The switch will retroactively impact all reputation messages"

IMHO this has been badly botched. It is like being half pregnant.

So those cowards that signed away other Flyertalkers names (mine included) on totally fake and nasty "reputation" comments left to others are now off scot free if they are not in the past 10.

Hope Dan is able to turn on all past dings, or IMO the entire exercise is a botched mess, and the idiots who caused the problems are not being caught with just past 10 revealed.

As emailed from Flyertalk Admin:

As of Monday, we will be switching the setting that allows for anonymity. Once the setting is switched, users will be able to see exactly who gave or took away reputation points - and here's the really big news, the switch will retroactively impact all reputation messages, meaning anonymity will disappear from all reputations given prior to Monday as well. Randy has always said, everyone on FT is responsible for everything they post, and this decision has been made to reflect that principle.

So, if you feel guilt about anything you have sent anonymously, you have the weekend to rectify the situation.

Should make for an interesting weekend :)

I enjoyed seeing who dinged and blinged me. In the case of the 2 ding's both were completely unrelated to my posting and totally related because they hate my guts. Oh well, welcome to FT :D (oops, I should add, I won't be losing sleep tonight as a result of now knowing)

I have no complaints!! :D

Someone did ding me once, but it's beyond the 10 blings that are listed.

Do I care that I never find out who dinged me? Nope... ;)

The interesting thing is that since there was talk of dings being id'ed, I bet no one has gotten a ding yet!! :D :D

Now please, Glen, ding me!!! ;)
(I'll still love ya, just like Randy PetersEn) :p

OK, so if 2 months ago the highest "thread view" total all of the recent threads in this Forum was 332 views, things have changed. Dramatically.

As we know the new look FT allows all users to see not only the number of posts to a thread but the number of VIEWS. Which at times is most instructive. I never knew there were SO many lurkers. :D

Right now I count over 10,000 'views' to just 3 threads in this Forum - all of them about these silly "reputation" points. One thread started by JonNYC has alone received 6,631 "views" or TWENTY times the highest thread view here in recent times.

If nothing else this proves these 'reputation' points are controversial.

Currently 935 active users (a record to date) and pushing 15,000 views on the reputation threads - all of which are the 5 most current threads in ORP.

"Sticks and stones"? Uh-huh. It matters to a lot of people, reputation.
