It should appear on the very bottom of the "My Flyer Talk" page with the heading "Latest Reputation Received". It will show the last five good or bad ratings you got. (If you did not receive any, presumably that will be empty.)

Suggestions? You can also check your reputation points by clicking on Edit Options on the Settings and Options portion of the same page. A box which says: Show My Reputation Level appears and in that box it says You Currently Have XX Reputation Points. You obviously have your reputation feature turned on as a green "Cloret" is showing under your FT handle. And everybody starts with 10 reputation points so you should be able to see something. Maybe somebody else can weigh in on this and be of assistance. |

Why in the world would you care what a bunch of anonymous Internet strangers think about you??? Why would you put any more or less stock in a person with a red/black/green dot than anyone else. This thread is about someone sending negative comments and signing someone else's name. We are all human and would all be hurt if someone we knew, respected and liked sent us a negative note. Wouldn't you be hurt if you got a nasty note from say, Rudi? Of course with people we know really well, we would check it out, but there are some folks who know other FlyerTalkers only casually, who might assume that the note really did come fromt the person whose signature appeared thereon, become upset and never speak to that person again. This type of activity represents a new low for FlyerTalk. :( (Well, then again, maybe not). ;) |

In view of the abuses perpetrated, I was all in favor of removing the system-wide anonymity of dings and blings, if that were possible. However, I have come to value the view of ScottC that there can actually be an element of charity and kindness in expressing one's candid viewpoint to a fellow Flyer Talker without having to worry about how that will affect the recipient's perception of the commenter. Given the longstanding grudges that seem to permeate some cliques, and a desire not to offend, the lack of an anonymous forum would result in a certain degree of self-censorship. However, those circumstances should be rare. It would seem that a courteous personal default would be to sign one's dings and blings. But with one's own name! Ding/bling signature falsification should definitely be ground for Flyer Talk discipline. Keep this in mind: One can charitably make a negative comment, but still select the "approve" button to indicate altruistic support of one's dignity as a human person! |
LOL, SPN lifer. Let's do call them "bling bling". That way if we get enough negative hits, maybe somebody will start sending us diamonds. I tried to give you some love for your cleverness, but the program told me, "Sorry, Punki, you have already given SPN lifer too much love. Go find somebody else to love". ;)
ScottC, you generally appear to be a quite intelligent young man. Surely you can understand the difference between blowing off cowardly, anonymous dings (bling blings) administered by folks who are too ashamed of themselves to sign their names, and receiving a hateful note, purportedly signed by friend. I know there have been some detours, but that is actually what this thread is about--the lowlifes who make unfriendly reputation comments and sign someone else's name. They are a shameful breed. :( |
