You mean there WASN'T enough prejudice and libel to make it Omni-worthy?

How about if I include a line saying that the Israeli Mossad is behind Cholula's plot to destroy America and Canarsie's illiteracy is the direct result of George Bush's attack on Iraq for the sole purpose of making certain that Shiite Muslims would start suicide bombings?

Are We Discussing The Color of One’s Skin, or NASCAR?

I strongly take offense to that statement, Dovster.

I have never, ever posted anything on FlyerTalk that even comes close to being illicitly racy.

Get your facts straight...

Would you gentlemen please take your OMNI arguments to OMNI? This fraudulent use of another's name is an important issue and I don't want to see it derailed or closed down for getting way off topic.

Thank you very much for your consideration. Punki

Punki, admittedly this thread went off into other directions, but not until after you had made an extremely valid point -- and it received almost universal support.

Giving "dings" and signing someone else's name is worse than an act of cowardice. It is an act of cowardice combined with the filthy intention of trying to spread animosity among friends.

If Randy has the ability to trace dings, I certainly hope that he announces that fact and warns that he will discover who sent them under someone else's name and immediately remove that person from the F/T family.

There really is no further need to discuss this as I don't recall anyone seeing it any differently.

As for the Omni moderation discussion, I am not certain how it got on this particular thread but it can not be taken to Omni -- there is a rule there against discussing moderation.

You can always open another thread in this forum, but all of them ended up the same way, closed ;)

Well, my score is dismal, but I turned the beacon off as soon as I knew what
it was for, because I dislike the system. If it got really wretched, I'd turn it
back on again just because I can. (Of course, I anticipate multiple dings now,
probably from the same folks who dinged me before and then perhaps some,
just because they can.)

Yikes, I just received a fraudulent comment that made me laugh:

To Punki: is signing positive comments with fake names ok? (From Punki)
:D :D :D

Well, in Rudi's case, if the question was asked as an honest inquiry, I think the answer's obvious.

Well... just wait until Monday.

If you have read the latest TalkMail, you will understand.

All those Red dings will be identified.

I will provide an excerpt:

As of Monday, we will be switching the setting that allows for anonymity. Once the setting is switched, users will be able to see exactly who gave or took away reputation points - and here's the really big news, the switch will retroactively impact all reputation messages, meaning anonymity will disappear from all reputations given prior to Monday as well. Randy has always said, everyone on FT is responsible for everything they post, and this decision has been made to reflect that principle.

Great move!

Woohoo! This should be fun! It's like waiting for Christmas morning!

But I have a question. I can only see my last 5 reputation comments. Is there any way to retrieve the older ones?

In all honesty, I see this as a potentially divisive problem. But I love a good train wreck. ;)
