Ooops-- I didn't consider the potentially disparaging reading of OmniHeads...

How 'bout Omnuts? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

I hope everyone who reads this realizes that this will probably be the straw that breaks the camel's back and OMNI will become a thing of the past.

I can see why now. My friend manages a forum and it's hard and it's small... FT requires literal full time work and to monitor one sub-forum is a complete waste of time.

sad, but not suprised nonetheless.

hmmm, I prefer Omninites http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Oh don't be so pessimistic. This is nothing in the scheme of all things, considering.

We've just proven that Omni citizen watch works!

UAL:
"[person XXX] always posted interesting pieces of news, not stuff that incited hostile posts..."

And I repeat my point, if I may, that responding with flames, incitement or attacks
does not prove that the original post was incendiary - - only that the person responding
thought it was inciting enough for them to reply in such a manner.

Its like jaywalking in front of a careless driver (in one's opinion) to prove that
thet ARE a careless driver. It does not follow...

As for posting private email communications - - yes, this a no-no, but I wonder
how else that person would have disproven the allegations that he/she felt they
were facing?

It is better yet to not make any such allegations in the first place
- - in OMNI, or ORP, or anywhere...

And yes, I do agree that perhaps the the multiple poster's 'approach'
could have used some gentle moderator coaching. But the 'offending' poster
did not attack or offend any singled-out indiviual. If there was any disrespect
shown, it perhaps was in the 'tone' that FT wished to establish in OMNI.

However, having said that, I believe that more than the one poster offended
OMNI today with disrespect for the TOS, the process, its members, common
decency, and just common sense to not get personal.

Will only the 'newcomer' be singled out? If so, I hope it is for substantial reason,
such as for using multiple handles...
.

Since you don't post in OMNI, why would you care?

Is there an anti-OMNI conspiracy at work? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

JonNYC, where are the black helicopters that will give us 10x the AA miles? Any way to do a mileage run with black helicopters that get us up from the bottom of the hill and over the top of the hill? We need just one way to get over that "uphill struggle" and get to the 2MM level? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Because you are openly and obnoxiously disrespecting the moderators of Omni. Omni's moderators have a hard enough job-- a more thankless chore I cannot fathom.

Your posts were closed-- as well they should be-- and then you come here to complain about it and disparage the moderators who did their job. I sincerely doubt you understand what I am telling you-- but I suspect most people won't support your "free speech" campaign in this regard.

Disagreeing with someone is not the same as disrespecting someone in my book.

I guess self-restraint vis-a-vis OMNI is a good thing if disagreement and disrespect are one and the same.

GUWonder, this is not the first time Goldlust has disrespected the rules of Omni. It's a repeat. One kind of begins to wonder.

We all make mistakes -- even repeat mistakes. Let's forgive, forget and move on. After all, we are all pretty good in terms of moving on planes, trains and automobiles. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

I think all of us have gotten the hint and there is, in my humble opinion, no need for further admonishment. All of us have gotten the hint and I think the standard of OMNI postings will generally improve in tone -- at least for some limited time, until we next need a reminder.

Goldlust is a fine contributor to OMNI. I am sure that most all of us OMNI participants are not so brain damaged that we, including Goldlust, cannot take a hint and try to work for the good of the greater community and tone it down a bit.

I hope you're right, GUWonder.

However, stay tuned. I believe there is more involved than has been revealed. I just pray that I'm wrong.

I guess we too have our own forensics team and regardless there will be play-by-play commentary. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif [Sounds sort of like what we (or at least I) do whenever there is a new, unwinding newstory worthy of OMNI hyper-discussion.]

Can't wait for the tabloid results. Enquiring minds want to know. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

This is all well and good - BUT _

DOES anyone know what happened to the Doritos in the President's Club?
