A totally OT post (or purposefully insinuating).

I believe that if one starts a thread, then one should discuss the topic
with at least a modicum of sincerity.

If not, isn't this the definition of 'trolling'?

Huh? So you're not a fan of raves?? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/confused.gif

I don't know what you define as trolling, but some of the stuff you've spouted comes awful close, awful close.

There's no point in debating you, as you clearly are not reasonable.

Why are we harassing Randy with OMNI matters again?

It seems like whenever we have something to disagree with from someone else, we call in Randy. Why can we not just let the moderators deal with it?

This is getting ridiculous. I do not go crying to the moderators to shut someone down entirely just because I respectfully disagree with their opinions. I suggest more of us adopt the same policy and just stop screaming bloody murder to Randy each and everytime the kids cannot get along.

It seems like the Bush partisans have the guns blazing to shut down the loyal opposition as "trolls". It seems like the non-Bush partisans have a more targetted approach: complain about labels. Both sides need to grow up. This is ridiculous. Let Randy focus on his business so we get better frequent traveller deals and knowledge without bogging him down with personal trash talking and power plays.

Randy,

I'm sorry that you have to read this junk.

I normally would never post here, except that the offending poster posted in a very very poor, I would even say intentionally offensive matter and material, in Omni, even when he was requested to stop or to consolidate it all together.

I am not a fan of Bush or his leadership group, so I would normally be inclined to agree with the materials posted, but this amount of junk exceeded my tolerance for misbehavior on Omni. This was a classic troll, and I wanted to point it out clearly what should not be acceptable in Omni.

Omni clearly is a beloved place for me, and I was disturbed enough to post here.

Again, sorry for the wasted time and energy on everyone's behalf, but hopefully it will teach those who intend to misbehave a lesson that things like this will not be tolerated.

Sincerely, UAL

Your post is totally out of line.

Please don't go labelling me as a pro-Bush or anti-Bush person. This has nothing to do with that.

Please read, read carefully, for the 100th time, I'll repeat, this is not a matter of disagreement. In fact, I agree with some of the sources that were posted.

However, the manner in which it was posted and the fact the poster did nothing but seem to troll for flames was what upset me.

I can post all day links from the PLO and Israelis. While that will add no value and help no one, I'm sure it will generate a ton of junk on Omni.

Is that good? I don't think so.

Really? hahhah. I am more amused every day. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

I do not even necessarily disagree with you, for what it's worth. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

There, that's so much better http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

I'm also very amused. Very tickled pink.

I wouldn't be suprised to learn if someone is playing with a duplicate handle...again.

I suspected the same and then discounted that. However, I am increasingly wrong nowadays. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Well, I think we are all increasingly wrong these days.

I mean, who would have predicted the hacked accounts and handles of recent past? I surely was shocked as anyone about those episodes.

Perhaps you should stop telling people to do things like get in line. After all, it is up to the moderators to determine who is out of line on FT. So your pronouncement that I am "out of line" is less relevant than a ruling by an FT moderator. If you think I am out of line, have an FT moderator tell me such. I respect their contribution and word -- even if I disagree with such.

UALOneKPlus Mar 14, 2004 3:37 pm

Agreed. Let's shake hands, aight?

With pleasure.

I agree that repetitive postings can disrupt Omni. I think Doc got in trouble for such. OMNI is not meant to be a wire service and/or a mouthpiece for some agenda or another. That is why I did not disagree with the moderators putting a temporary restraining order in place. OMNI has a valued place and excessive abuse could be problematic and making it into a wire service restrains the opportunity for true dialogue that benefits all of us. However, free range dialogue constrained to OMNI is quite helpful and amusing.
