Thanks!
. OSL would totally work for me too (probably better than Japan even), can I look up the base fare in KVS? I don't have an EF subscription. Exchange rate variations might affect these USD amounts slightly day to day |

done3 ex JPY booked- need some advice
Been staring at a exJapan DONE3 (i think) for the past week. finally pulled the trigger today for a starting flight in 2 days from Tokyo-HKG first before onwards to London.
Did booking on OW website. When I was playing around with TOK-LHR as first leg before, was not able to pay on the website and instead asked to call into BA Japan office to pay. However as I wanted to add the Tok-HKG leg anyhow I did that and a payment field came up. Finally put in payment dets and pulled trigger about 6 hours ago and got a confirmation email with reservation code and saying an eticket will follow. Haven't yet received that eticket and I haven't seen my card charged Any vets here know how long it usually takes? I see the first few legs of the flights show up on my marco polo account used on the booking, but as payment not processed (there was a 0.01 usd charge from Cathay) and i havent received an eticket I am a bit paranoid given I am supposed to fly out in 2 days. Also, if i were to want to make changes to this ticket, who do I call or contact? My schedule is only certain for the first few legs and last few, in between i could be changing stops. |
There is a special queue for interline tickets and yours should be in it. BA ticketing is pretty terrible, this is all done by hand and things can fail to be ticketed. I assume you are monitoring your reservation with a tool like My Flights so you will be aware when it is ticketed. Also, we don't see many people flying from Torokina. ;) [Tokyo is TYO] BA can change your ticket now, once one sector is flown (in theory) any oneworld airline can take ownership of it. In reality you are probably stuck with BA or maybe CX/AA/JL/QF. Not sure anyone else can really do rtw tickets. I misread, though you were being ticketed by BA. Call CX. |
Since the first sector is tyo hkg, the first sector is likely to be cx or it would fail as the online engine used to be able to ticket it if the first sector is cx. Just call cx to see if it has ticketed.

Only just saw this so perhaps a bit late. They have taken up to a week or more to be ticketed in my experience. PM me if you want an email address for the CX office in Tokyo. |

I'm looking to book the following. DFW-NRT/HND-LHR-DFW in Business. Ideally JL then BA then AA.
However, when pricing it out on the oneworld website, the first leg DFW-NRT is not giving me the option of Business on JL, only on AA. JL comes up as premium economy. I thought it needed D class availability for Business? This is the availability on JL according to expertflyer: C9 J9 D9 X1 I0 Y9 W9 E9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N4 Q9 O0 G0 I'd much prefer JL to AA. Am I missing something? Would calling help me book this? If so, which airline do I call? |

You're looking at JL11, the 787, and not a JL codeshare on an AA flight? At any rate, calling will help you book, as the web tool can act up.

Correct, I'm looking at JL11. Well, I just realized the JL 787 is 2-2-2 and not 1-2-1, so I should probably go with AA anyway. Thanks!
Or, you could route via JFK, ORD, or LAX, which has daily Sky Suite 777 service. JFK has the advantage of a longer flight, so more time to sleep and relax. I'd opt for JL's new Sky Suite product over AA's, personally. |

Yeah, I think the JL 787 still has the old slanted-flat paired seats, which are nowhere near as nice as AA's. Plus, AA provides PJs and bedding in J, at least on some flights (I'm not sure what AA's specific policy is as to which flights get them).

Thanks, I'll definitely go AA. I just assumed a far east carrier on newer plane (787 vs 777) would be better.

Update: according to the JL Sky Suite route page, DFW-NRT has the 787 Sky Suite four days a week: Mon, Wed, Fri, and Sun.
I'd opt for JL's new Sky Suite product over AA's, personally. So I'm confused. JL's Sky Suite is only present on some 787s? It's 2-2-2 but with all aisle access, correct? The seatmaps on EF all show the same map for Fri/Sat/Sun for JL11, so I'm not sure how to tell the difference. |
