So Qantas came back to me this morning and quoted me a price of $5,500 AUD, but with some incorrect flight dates for the first flights.
So I worked with an agent this morning to change the flights, and they went and repriced the ticket but came back and told me that it had gone up and they couldn't ticket it at that price anymore. The lady on the phone I was dealing with was super helpful, probably the best customer service agent I have ever dealt with from an airline, and what ended up happening was they agreed to honour the original fair because they had quoted it to me this morning. So with the new recruiting, I got a DONE5 ex-MPM for a final cost of $5,400AUD. Taught me a lesson in ticket first, change later. But those dates really wouldn't have worked, specifically for the first flight. I gave them my credit card details but I haven't yet been charged. Still fingers crossed until an eticket arrives in my inbox. |

Called AY and they have raised the price also. Is there place anymore where i can get this today?

Even if AY haven't actually refiled yet, they may have instructed their Rates/Tariff agents to 'use the QF fare' or some such.
I used to get similar instructions when I worked for BA and rules were being updated. As we just saw with the update of the routing rules, QF usually file first. I would get an email to refer to the new QF rules while waiting for the BA fare to be updated. Perhaps a similar thing happening with the adjusted prices? |

I made 1 last attemp with the USA QF phone number last night. Actually it was a call center in South Africa. Denied the routing saying no backtracking in Europe/ME, must end in same origin country, cannot change fare class ie no D class with an A class fare. Regardless, the fare today matches the other OW airlines. I'll just keep my DONE4 JNB-GRU...JNB trip.

Sorry, i ment south africa even if MPM is not technically in south africa. I wish i could have seen this fare couple days earlier, damn. If someone somehow knows how to help me book this hit me with the PM and i`am more than happy to pay travel agency fees :D

The premium fares ex-Mozambique have more than doubled since last week and they are now very similar to the fares out of South Africa and out of Namibia, which are still not bad by world standards (still significantly cheaper than fares out of Australia for example) |
Very interesting to follow the progression during the fare change-- definitely instructive for the future, when the next good deal comes along. Especially with the relaxation of the rule for SITI/SOTO (or whatever it is (doing that from memory from my old AONE tix) -- the change to being able to book outside of the Country of origin.)
Glad I witnessed this ending/change period to remind me a bit on the last minute rush-- not trying to perfect the itin, just getting something ticketed, etc. |

(Sold Outside/Ticketed Outside - country of origin that is) Yes, a lesson here for us all: When the end times are near - decide the date and destination of your first flight/s, then plug in some more flights to get to round the world and thus have a valid itinerary - then get it paid for and ticketed ASAP! After the first flight, pay the USD125 change fee and perfect the itinerary |
rj has filed new fares according to expertflyer.

It seriously sucks how oneworld can't allow one obscure outpost, where only one carrier flies, for a good-priced Explorer fare.
