The route I was trying to work on was OSL-xHEL-HND-SIN-HKG-LAX-ANC-DFW-SFO-JFK-xDOH-MAD-xDOH-OSL - as far as I understand a perfectly valid XONE3 - doing it that way won't even let me get to the choose dates screen as it says I cannot have more than 2 stopovers in the continent of origin. When I try inputting OSL-HND-SIN-HKG-LAX-ANC-DFW-SFO-JFK-MAD-DOH-OSL it will allow me to go to choosing flights but then displays the message in the pic shown.

You're indeed correct, it is a Sabre issue. The travel agent I am working with was able to find the errors in the route map that you mentioned and has elevated them to Sabre support, but they need to talk to QR and RJ (the airlines involved in the examples we presented). We got it to price in Amadeus finally, but had to remove one TYO stopover to get it, so even Amadeus still seems imperfect on this routing.

I have the recollection that there's a Sabre command for this, but I can't remember it anymore. Anyway, I found the definition here: https://support.travelport.com/webhe...ones_Areas.htm
220-*O-210/220-*O-210/220-*O-310/320/330/350-*O-310/
320/330/350-*O-310/320/330/350-*O-310/320/330/350-*O-
310/320/330/350-*O-000/140/160-*O-000/140/160-*O-000/
140/160-*O-000/140/160-*O-000/140/160-*O-000/140/160-
*O-*PA-*O-*LY-*O-*LY-*O-220
Now I know what the 3 digit codes are, but what are things like *O, *PA, and *LY ?

Wow, thank you so much for that, it's really interesting. Now I understand half of what I'm seeing. Maybe someone can fill in the rest, and I hope others find this info useful too. I looked at the routing rules for a DONE3 from CAI. There are 4 options, and this is one of them:
220-*O-210/220-*O-210/220-*O-310/320/330/350-*O-310/
320/330/350-*O-310/320/330/350-*O-310/320/330/350-*O-
310/320/330/350-*O-000/140/160-*O-000/140/160-*O-000/
140/160-*O-000/140/160-*O-000/140/160-*O-000/140/160-
*O-*PA-*O-*LY-*O-*LY-*O-220
Now I know what the 3 digit codes are, but what are things like *O, *PA, and *LY ?
220-*O-210/220-*O-210/220-*O-310/320/330/350-*O-310/
320/330/350-*O-310/320/330/350-*O-310/320/330/350-*O-
310/320/330/350-*O-000/140/160-*O-000/140/160-*O-000/
140/160-*O-000/140/160-*O-000/140/160-*O-000/140/160-
*O-*PA-*O-*LY-*O-*LY-*O-220

I believe *PA and *LY mean Panama and Libya, respectively. They are specifically written out because Panama is part of North America for xONEx purposes but part of South America according to IATA, while Libya is part of Middle East for xONEx purposes but part of Africa according to IATA. Note the routings list "allowed" points (except origin and final destination), not points you have to travel through. There are 499 (not 4) allowed routings for an ex-CAI DONE3. You cannot mix and match from these 499 possibilities, but you can skip any point in between.

I believe it is no more complicated than some people don't notice in a busy thread, some people don't overly agree with rules and being organised, xome people care but less so than replying when they have someone to contribute. I've been shot down a few times trying to nudge things to thr dedicated thread so no longer bother. The mods set the tone and have the authority and power to do so.

You indeed pointed me to the correct thread which I appreciated. Although I have been using FT for a while, I am technologically inept, and don't really know how to link things from one thread to another. Mwenenzi asked a question about my post and I had the choice of, as I see it, being rude and not answering or answering, so I answered. As far as I know I am not able to move what I had posted over to the other thread you recommended, but perhaps the mods can?

Privilege Club calculation
LilZeppelin - thanks for the advice and just curious, how did you come up with the 712 Qpoints number? Running things through the Privilege Club calculator I got something like 500 Qpoints (enough for Gold but not Platinum) but I certainly may have missed something.
(edit: oops I didn't quote the original message but AA codes on HND-DFW-DTW-ORD-SFO-JFK-DOH; then QR on DOH-TBS-DOH-MUC-DOH-BKK; then AA on BKK-HND, all in D class)

Booking as AA codeshare gives more Qpoints, but in addition to not meeting the condition to have 20% of QR-marketed and operated flights, one also cannot easily assign Qsuites as the middle aisle ones are blocked for QR-marketed bookings in my experience.

Your calculation is correct: The ticket will give you 524 Qpoints, of which 118 earned and operated by QR (76qpoints short of Platinum, in addition 2 Qpoints short of QR marketed and operated flights).

So really they just need to find another 76 Qpoints from any source on a separate ticket(s) if they want Platinum
The 20% clause is really only useful if someone were doing something like only 2x really long haul QR segments on a RTW, like LAX-DOH-AKL as an example. That'd cover your 20% as you need 120 and that gives 186.
