I am QR Plat but QR does not want to make me such a ticket.
I plan to avoid completely travelling through the US so I don�t think AA will help me.
I was thinking to use BA as last resort (I am aso OWE with them) but my 20 year experience with them is not great�

Couldn't hurt to try AA anyway because AA has a codeshare on the BA route LHR YVR. They also codeshare on YYZ route with BA but your transpacific options out of yyz are much more limited. Good luck and let us know how it turns out if you do call AA.

Both! Sabre doesn�t play nice with the fares, it�s basically giving the customer a blank cheque for changes so they might want to constantly move dates etc.

AA's only requirement is that either a TPAC or TATL flight (or both, of course) be AA marketed, i.e., have an AA flight number. Codeshares count.

Yes, however I was told by an AAgent that AA RTW desk cannot book all AA codeshares even if they exist. It's specific to the operating airline and route, and they don't know until they try booking the segment. However, the agent said if the route is to/from US, they can def book the codeshare.. but outside of that arrangement, YMMV. Thus, because this is a codeshare between UK and Canada, it may not be possible.. but worth asking about. This was a relatively recent rule in the past 12 months, per the AAgent.

Regarding booking the codeshare, how do you ask the AA RTW agent to do it? Do you just start your booking and then when you get the flight you want codeshare on you request that? Or do you ask about the codeshare first thing? Rather not waste their time if possible. Also it seems like they may resent "gaming" the system? I love those folks and want to treat them well.

If you want the codeshare, I suggest being upfront with asking them to book the AA codeshare. AA will always be fine with booking the AA codeshare on partner metal, unless they are unable to do so (due to restrictions or lack of availability). As you walk through each segment in your trip, just ask them to look into booking the codeshare.. it's not a script or anything.
What exactly is gaming the system here?

If you are an AA EXP they may cur you some slack. Maybe 1 AA domestic segment will be ok

One AA segment is just fine even if you aren't EXP. I just changed IAD-DOH from AA codeshare to QR flight which I need for QRPC 4 segment qualification requirement. I only have 1 AA transoceanic codeshare, SYD-LAX AA codeshare on QF.

I started a word document for my own use since I don't know how to edit a Wiki. But seeing the discussion over in the User Guide thread, I realize many people may want to look at examples. And when they have very open requests perhaps pointing them to actual examples might be helpful.

Can someone give me a pointer to two on how to edit the Wiki to get this started? I did search for instructions but I must be too dumb to find/understand them. Thanks.

I believe this is actually intercontinental, not specifically TPAC or TATL. There were a few examples of people in the 2024 fire sale ex-CAI that got AA to ticket with AA codes on US-South America, where mostly only AA codes are available (except GRU and GIG). Leaving the TPAC and TATL segments ripe for the picking of JL (TPAC) and QR or AY codes (TATL). The fun thing was on the old ex-CAI fares, the incremental difference between DONE3, DONE4, and DONE5 was negligible so you could add South America to check off AA's box to have an intercontinental segment for a couple of hundred dollars.

One AA intercontinental segment has always been fine. It doesn't need to be both. So your example has an AA code on SYD-LAX, despite being QF metal is perfectly fine, though that's a REALLY long segment so people crediting to AAdvantage would be at a serious disadvantage on it, however in QRPC, AA codes actually credit better than their own QR codes, so works well for you.
