One issue to look out for with this plan is that the lounges will sometimes add your FFN without asking/saying when you show your card. That's also something to look out for with other plans of course ;).

Good point. Given the amount of chatter it may even be worth a new where to credit xONEx flights thread.

I suppose? Although it would highly overlap with the Which Oneworld program thread.. where D fares accrue is a relatively straightforward matter.. That's just looking up earnings tables. Then the remaining question is which program to accrue with, ..
[fwiw, the info you suggest is useful and even more useful I think is the non-published info on how to ensure segments credit where you want] |
On the topic of crediting... Is it possible to use Codeshare flights instead of prime codes when booking segments?
What rules apply here? Should I assume married segment logic applies? So, for example on a AA operated leg which has a BA Codeshare, I could presumably only select the BA* Codeshare flight no if I'm connecting to/from another BA leg? I ask because after the recent changes to BA's program, some airlines earn considerably more than others even when Codeshares. |

Yes, it is possible. When I call AA RTW desk, I feed them exact flight no I want to book, but they may cost differently due to surcharge, fee and tax etc
|
call RTW desk, they are only one I found so far can reliably change FF. I changed from AA to AY.

To add a data point:
... Same for AS flights, when calling guy says he now sees 2 numbers in the system but was able to remove the old one (again their website did not offer to change FFN at all). This I still need to check, it is still in the what I call "cool down / sync phase" ;) Ergo: If you want to swap number be prepared for multiple rounds with agents, double (better triple) check and do it all well in advance your journey so all the backend systems / databases / whatever have enough time to sync... First round of FFN swap for AS flights did not work, system still showed 2 numbers (and BA as primary when pulling the reservation up online). 2nd attempt now got a more knowledgable agent who "had seen this before", so thankfully she knew her clicks better. She removed both FFN, saved it so all fields showed empty and then added AY number again. Now it shows the AY number also when I look up the reservation online, so hopefully the entire itinary is now "Finnair-ed" :D |

It's been noted that recent messages are off topic. This thread is for booking or pricing experiences, not crediting issues. A thread was created for that: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/onew...x-flights.html

D&D and RTW
One thing I learned in middle school, is that middle school is boring, and only survivable if you play Dungeons and Dragons.
One thing I learned from D&D, is that Lawful Good characters (like Paladins) can collaborate with Lawful Chaotic characters (like Rangers). Because their differences are minor, and the real enemy is the evil classes (BAEC program redesigners, a certain type of flight attendant, and other categories of troll). One thing the Paladins and Rangers should keep in mind is that we are all good. Some of us post in the wrong thread, but we are all good. Let’s all try to post in the right thread, but let’s all really unite in coming together to outwit the trolls. |
If we really want people to post in the correct thread, we should have a Wikipost to this thread that summarizes what this one is supposed to be about, and lists all the other threads (perhaps with a parenthetical summary after each). The parenthetical summaries can be done later.

So, weird thing... Looks like I've found a way to get a DGLOB34 to price up with AA.com using ITA Matrix and Bookwithmatrix. All it took was one short AA domestic leg on an AA code.
Anyone know if I'll be able to get through to the AA RTW desk to service this if I book it? I'll definitely need to make some changes to the last couple of (non US) legs in a few months I'm curious if they'd refuse to deal with it because I booked it online? |

Well, I hit book today, and my ticket has been "On Request" for 6-7 hours, so I'm assuming it's been shipped over to the One world ticketing desk to actually ticket manually. Fingers crossed they don't cancel it because I don't have an over water AA segment. Because I'm trying to limp over the BA Gold For
Let's see what happens |
