Dec 14 - NW 1631 DTW-IAH : complete drink selection, I want to say
excessive, even. The woman next to me had 7 glasses of red wine, two
before the door was closed. Everybody else also took advantage of the
gracious FA as well. So, no problem to report on this flight.

Thumbs down

11 Dec 2006 NW1099 YUL-DTW - No pre-flight drinks offered even though the ENTIRE plane was boarded with 25 minutes left before departure.

I asked one of the FA's for water and she said she would let the FC FA know. FC FA states that she's really busy...(She is sitting in the FA seat by the door reading her magazine at this point). A second pax asks for a Diet Pepsi and the FA goes up front to the FC FA who then begrudgingly gets up to pour these two drinks. She brings me the water and states: "Hon, I am the only one up here so we don't do pre-flight drinks. I just have too much to do!" By the way, there were a total of maybe 6 pax in FC for this flight.

This is ONE example from last week. I haven't kept track, but I would estimate that no pre-flights drinks occurs about 25% and water only another 25% on my weekly flights.

06DEC NW868 GFK-MSP: full pre-departure drink service

08DEC NW631 MEM-IAH: nothing pre-departure BUT flight was not catered until 5 minutes prior to door closing. FA explained and apologized to the FC cabin twice, and made sure we were taken care of in the air. ^

Should we make this thread a "sticky?"

Dec 16th, 117 MSP-PHX. Nothing until airborne. There were only 5 pax up front in the anteater.

This was my last flight of the year. As a parting gift, the deities of the sky offered 10 mins of moderate turb on descent into PHX - very unusual at this time of year.

Dec 5, NW207 DTW-SEA
Preflight drinks offered, excellent in-flight service

Dec 7, NW250 SEA-DTW
Preflight drinks offered (by non-FC FA), crappy service in-flight (1 drink before lunch, wine/water with lunch, one more pass through the cabin after lunch)

I've noticed less pre-departure service lately, but since you asked just about December:

Dec 4 MKE-MSP DC-9 none offered
Dec 7 LAX-MKE A319 drinks offered, despite late departure.

As a side note, flew on CO GCM-IAH over the weekend, on a free ticket, got an op-up to first on a 738. Cabin was 12/14 seats filled, and we were only offered water...
