:D

Try crossing the bridge from Sweden - the put up road block to reduce speed to 30km/h, they don't bother removing it (I did see them doing random checks). It seems that restrictions apply only to people who fly into Denmark.

Sounds a lot like Sweden’s customs control for arriving train passengers from CPH; but that’s a hidden poster upstairs at Hyllie, a poster with Tull’s phone number — right where there used to be a free way to call them. :D

I will be in Copenhagen next month and will need to take a PCR test to travel back home to Canada. Are there any decently priced clinics I can visit in the city centre? Also, what happens if I test positive? Can I self-isolate at my AirBnb or would I be sent off to a quarantine facility?

Sent off to a quarantine facility in Denmark after already having played tourist in Copenhagen on the trip? That would take some real effort to even try to pull off — especially at this point. Self-isolating has been accepted.

I have not yet done this yet (will also be departing next month back to the U.S.), but test centers in Denmark are free, including for foreigners. Here is a map of test centers.

https://en.coronasmitte.dk/test-for-covid-19

You need to check which ones are available to foreigners, and also which ones give proper notification that can be used for travel. Some are available both as walk-in and with an appointment. Also be sure to select the one that does PCR (if that's what you need) vs. Rapid test as they do different tests at different facilities.

I hope someone who has done this will chime in because I'm still trying to determine if this will be permitted for entry to U.S.

I'm in Iceland right now and that's what happens if you test positive as a tourist. Not ideal.

Perfect! I had found some private clinics online but prices were outrageous.

And not Denmark. :)

My boys did PCR test last August before they got the yellow health cards (they have Danish CPR number and passport). We took them to CPH, got the test done, what they said was that if it's negative they won't contact us. We have done antigen test (with the yellow cards) and we gave them our phone number and got a link to the certificate.

The problem with free PCR is waiting time for the result, it can take up to 72h. I remember CPH-Flyer mentioned a place called Penta something like that offers ok price test approved by airlines and quick result.

One more question: I'm a fully vaccinated Canadian citizen and resident who's been in Iceland for the past month. Do I need a test to travel to Denmark for tourism purposes? I'm a bit confused by what I'm seeing online.

Wait until a week before you come before checking. The rules are like stock market prices changing all the time. The best is to check with the Canadian Embassy in Denmark for latest information (again don't check until a week before).

As Danish residents, despite Canada is green on ECDC page, the foreign ministry of DK has travel advisory against all unnecessary travel to Canada, which means no travel insurance would cover any trip to Canada.

Thanks - looks like I need to do a little more research. My brother-in-law (permanent resident in Denmark) did a PCR test recently at one of the walk-in test centers and had the results first thing the morning after his test, which he took late the prior day. They told him it would be about 15-16 hours and it was quicker than that. So he suggested that to us, but he wasn't getting it for use on a U.S. bound flight.

I had found another link that I saved - can't remember if it was posted here on FT or elsewhere - for test centers in Denmark that provide printed results. I'll take another look.

Be sure to read comments from nacho and do your own research on those - I don't want to steer you wrong! As mentioned, I hadn't tried it myself yet.

Across the Danish news on television and in the newspapers, I have for days seen nothing about Covid. I finally noticed the following article which praises the Danish approach and points to Vietnam’s shutdown and low vaccination rate. The article naturally doesn’t mention that while restrictions have been lifted within Denmark, it’s not so entering the country which requires being vaccinated. There is also no mention of breakthrough cases, positivity rate and the relatively many infected among those 10-39 years of age. A second web page illustrates this better.

I don't remember the exact numbers, but on Danish radio yesterday they compared the average number of daily tests done mid-summer vs. a month ago vs. this week and it was a very stark decrease which is no doubt due to the lifting of restrictions where a negative test or proof of vaccination is no longer required to enter restaurants, museums, cinemas, etc. So not only has everyone tossed their masks, but they've stopped getting tested.
