** Alert** New 2018 Taxes at LAX
FYI - there are new taxes being assessed on every LAX rental due to construction of the new consolidated facility. Not sure if every agency has started charging the fees, but National sure is. Here is a sample for a one week rental
1. Customer Facility Charge 7.50/day $37.50 (**new**)
2. Airport Concession Fee 11.11 Pct (11.11%) $15.32 (based off my corp rate - this could be higher or lower for different customers) (**this tax existed before, but should have never be assessed as the rental location is off airport property**)
So now you're looking at no less than $52 a week just in airport fees alone, before any other state taxes or fees....caveat emptor.

The customer facility charge is now $7.50 per day no longer $10 per rental - the tax is now $52.50 on a standard 7 day rental period.

If I do a trial booking for a midsize in EA in July for 2 weeks, I get as below. I used a KLM/Air France contract id.
Rental Rate 1 Rental @ $246.60
1 Day(s) @ $35.21
1 Week(s) @ $246.74
Fees Sales Tax (10.0%) $14.58
If I remove the contract id, I get all those excessive charges, but then it seems the customer facility charge is capped at 37.50, even for 2 weeks. Maybe for us Europeans, the Airport Concession Fee, Customer Facility Charge, Tourism Commission Rec and Vehicle License Recovery Fee are either not charged or in the rental rate?

Meanwhile, this was last Sunday. No cars at all, those that were present had no keys in them. Staff kept a list and handled first come first serve. Every 4-5 minutes a car rolled in, there were lots of people waiting to get a car. I declined quite a lot of cars, either because they were too boring (Ford Focus) or just not what I wanted (any minivan).
According to staff, it had to do with the holidays, late returns and Rosebowl. I waited half an hour for a white Camaro LS, there was a guy just in front of me who got a yellow RS.

If I am correct, the 8572158 is a Visa contract ID, correct? Can it be used by any card VISA holder (I found a different one on VISA web site, but looks to be valid until Feb. only) or should the rental be paid by a Visa card to use it?

Very useful to Europeans ; all necessary insurances ,taxes & costs are included..
Through the years I used both Visa Card and Amex as form of payment.
Doesn't matter what card you use.
I noticed you had some other questions regarding National Car at SFO.
Both National and Alamo at SFO are top locations.
If your car is not in the aisle , ask a greeter for it.
They do everything to help you .
And remember ; renting at National Car ś Emerald Club starts by reserving a mid-size car.
Enjoy !

Thanks a lot for the feedback.
For the coupon NDA2324BR, I think membership is required to BJs. Correct?
Anyway, when I try a coupon code with the Visa contract ID, I can't get through full reservation (site says: "an error occured" and unable to get "Review & Reserve" page correctly displayed)... I got the rate but next pages are with errors.

You do not need to use the BJs Contract ID to use Coupon NDA2324BR and I have never been asked to produce a BJs Membership Card

You should never use codes you are not legitimately entitled to use. Even if not asked for proof of membership up front, eligibility can always be checked after the fact by audit and then upwardly adjusted to maximum daily rate, so I would advise caution in using any such codes. Is it likely? Probably not, but everyone has a different risk tolerance for these sorts of things.

That said, for those who want to play by the rules exactly as they are written, I went back and scoured the T&C of Coupon NDA2324BR and there is nothing that states that you have to use the BJ's Contract ID (to which if one is not a member, one is probably not entitled to use said Contract ID, but since this is about a Coupon code and not a Contract ID, I won't be bothered to read the T&C of the BJ's Contract ID) or that you have to be a member of BJ's to use said Coupon Code.
