Yes, but with a hefty one way fee attached to it.

Is there a code to get the fee waived? I just did a one way for no fee but it was not a premium vehicle. I'm surprised there would be a fee to go from LAX to SFO. That has to be a common route.

Never heard of a one way rental that didn't have a drop off fee.

What I dont see is a way to reserve a "premium" convertible via the National website. The only convertibles on offer are listed as Siebring or similar. How does one reserve a premium car via the website?

Not every car is available for one ways. Did a one way from MCI - TUL with no drop fees, and was able to take anything from ES. They would not let me take the "special" cars like the Mustang from the upgrade area.

Once you get the airport you have to go to the counter and tell then what you want. The "speical" cars work that way... You can rent a "Premium" car on line and then go from there.

Pick-up around 2am on Friday morning due to delayed flight:

EA had slim pickings of ONLY Malibus, about 8, choose your color.

However, ES/R has to be one of the best selections I've ever seen, fully stocked, including:
Multiple Chargers
2 Camaros
Multiple Challengers
Range of SUVs - including large (Mazada RX6, Toyota Venza, Explorer, Suburban, etc.)
And many other interesting selections.

I was going to take a Camaro but as pulling to the gate realized at 6 foot I didn't fit in it, so went and took a zoom zoom Challenger, which wound up having under 2,000 miles and new car smell.

This advice comes with HEAVY warning, but I recently did a one way rental for $44 (Incl CDW) No Drop Fees. (National Alamo @ LAX) Ford Focus 2013.

The company I booked through has horrendous policies and iffy reviews, but if you are willing to take a risk, their rates can't be beat.

E.G.: SFO-LAX for a week is 25 a day with CDW

www.carhire3000.com
The main catch is they claim they don't accept US Drivers.
When I picked up at National/Alamo @ LAX, I used their new ATM rental machine (with California DL and AMEX I paid with) I didn't speak to any human agents, and proceeded to the exit.

They also do not allow cancellations 1 week out.

YMMV

When I'm renting from National at LAX, is it typical for me to be allowed to drive the car to Nevada? I have a corporate rate, if that affects things at all. Is there an easy way to check?

You are allowed to drive anywhere in the US or Canada with any National rental.

Are you asking about a one-way or are you returning the car to LAX? Either way, yes you can drive the car to Nevada.
