flyrights - I am not sure if you have looked at this schedule option, but you could catch the evening MX tonight from LAX to MEX and make a connection to the morning Cubana flight to Havana - I think you might actually find somone who would agree with your comments.

I think some people care... over 100 replies tells me people probably do care, and at least some probably KNOW in their greedy little hearts, that I'm right, that airlines SHOULD disclose EXACTLY what rights people are buying, but lack the courage to publically admit it... Second, the number of people who don't realize and expect premium passengers to get premium service on the ground and in the air is probably such a small minority that it isn't even worth discussing. Go to ticketing. There's a separate line for coach, business and first class passengers. That explains it.

You have to recognize this board is for VERY FREQUENT FLYERS, savvy about getting things for nothing. That means it's in your interest to have classes where people are treated differently, even though it may be illegal for the airlines to commit fraud by not DISCLOSING what rights come with different kinds of tickets, (i.e., the right to have someone else bumped off a plane for your benefit). IF, this posting were on a board for say, BUDGET TRAVELERS, where you and those of a similar mindset, would be in the most miniscule minority, I suspect it would be more like 1,000 to 1 in favor of treating people fairly...that is NOT letting full fare ticket people push off CONFIRMED economy people. You have to remember this is a ONE-SIDED forum, for rich people who try, and get away with pushing others around.

Some thoughts here: 1) I think your title of the topic is misleading and I don't want people to think that OK does not really mean confirmed on BA because your title does not tell what really happened. 2) I understand your points and respect them but you never seem to understand anyone else's post or respect their opinion.

Yes, I'm aware the Concorde doesn't have economy consolidator tickets... If you read a few dozen posts back, I was referring to a Concorde/First Award, L.A./NY/London/Singapore/Australia...
So if there is a flight irregulatary on the portion London/Singapore, and I'm on a FREE Concorde ticket, am I considered LOWER than a PAID economy ticket? None of us will ever know... I have no elite status with BA, but maybe an economy consolidator PAID ticketholder might... so who gets to go on the flight?

Satish, the question is, how does someone rate on a London/Singapore irregularity flight, who has a First/Concorde AWARD ticket, with NO BA elite status, versus someone who has a PAID economy ticket, who may or may not have BA elite status?

Last month the Concorde JFK-LHR had a hydraulic problem and could not take off. Pax were offered sub-sonic F if they wanted it.
Those who really wanted Concorde were put up in Hotel overnight at BA expense. AND were given a free RT Concorde ticket for future use, irrespective of WHAT kind of ticket they held - QF award, BA Award, paid Full fare, discount QEII deal etc. How do I know? A very touching story, Ozstamps, but the question is about what happens when there AREN'T enough seats for everyone on the next available flight... THEN who gets to go?
The compensation BA offered seems reasonable but consider if the hydrolic problem happened on say a 747, BA would have taken care of the full fare and/or elite level passengers, by putting them on the first flights out, and they would have discriminated against the economy and/or non-elite people, by making them wait in the airport, and giving a coupon for the cafeteria... Remember, NOT disclosing that your economy/non-elite ticket comes with LESS rights equals FRAUD to me.
