Friday evening I faxed a Comp request along with my US DM#, DL GM credentials, and DL SkyMiles statements to US Air at 305-370-3513 .

I did not receive a reply, but when I checked my US account status online Tuesday around noon it now shows "Gold Preferred Member" status. ^ ^

Less than 2 business day turnaround. Some previous posts had indicated all status matches were on hold due to the merger. (Not in my case :D )

Requested DL Elite Status to Match Southwest

Hello folks. Last Wednesday I faxed my Southwest statement to Delta in an attempt to get elite status, or at least a challenge offer. I'm a Companion Pass flyer on Southwest. The fax number I used was 404-773-1945.

Has anyone ever tried to get Delta to match Southwest's top program? I'm just curious if I'm trying something new here. Also, what is the current estimate on response time? My request was faxed to them a week ago and I have not heard a peep out of them.

Thanks! This is a great resource.

I am thinking of comping using my AA plat (or NW GE) to get some if any status on UA. When would the best time to do so be? If I am looking to have status for the entire 2007 calendar year, when is the earliest I can request it?

tried to search for the info by reading all of this massive thread but by page 5 i started to get a headache... sorry for the duplication.

I recv'd Gold Medallion through a DL challenge back in March '05.

I faxed my NW statement which showed Gold Elite and they responded with a challenge.

The challenge: fly 5000 miles to receive Silver Medallion, fly 10,000 miles to receive Gold Medallion. All within a 3-month period. The fax said that all fare classes are equal for the challenge (unlike the AA challenges), but over the phone they said that deep-discounted fares are not eligible.

However, after 10,000 miles worth of flights posted (which were all flown on LUT fares), my Gold status appeared.

I'm not sure if the challenge is still being offered...

can someone please explain the rules of the DL challenge and who to cal to start it up?

Thanks for posting this, as I'm interested in having US match my AA Gold, but was unsure about whether it would work right now.

I'm thinking about waiting until July 1, so that the status will last until 2/28/08 (IIRC, that's how AA does it). Anyone know about this for US?

UPDATE: worked fine today, and they bumped me to Platinum. Woo-hoo!

I just recieved a match from Delta no questions asked! I'm so excited. I'm American Gold status and live in Miami. However i'm starting to travel to BHM weekly and DL is my best option. I faxed them my AA print out and requested silver status to switch loyalties and within 48 hours - there it was!! i'm so excited. I didn't know I could even possibly do that until finding this board a few days ago.

UA Status Match Question

Anybody know for sure if there is a mid-year date in 2006 beyond which if you are granted a status match on UA, your status will remain until Feb. 2008?? I believe with the AA challenges, if you do your challenge beyond
a certain July date, your new status will remain until a year from the following
Feb....

To piggyback on this, is there a similar date for a CO status match? I've seen this asked a few times on this thread but not answered.

Since it is on the US Air website here http://usairways.custhelp.com/cgi-bi...hp?p_faqid=363 I assume that US Air is still matching.

For US, how late in this year do I have to match to make the US Status Match good until February 2008?

PhillyPhlyer40 Jun 15, 2006 7:42 pm

Does anyone have the cutoff date for NW status match to be good through all of 2007? I historically fly a lot early year, and dont want to status match now if I will only be PE until 2/2007. I will requalify next year, but want to include the whole year. Thanks....a FORMER us flyer!

Adding on to this question, If I have NW status until feb of next year, but will lose it after that, will NWA match my status from AA (plat) or UA (premier) after I lose status with them?

Is Delta still offering elite challenges (a la AA)?

I ask specifically because I will be travelling to Israel, Singapore, and Australia this summer, which if not covered by Delta will be covered by Delta partners.

I called Delta Skymiles center, spent about 15 minutes talking to someone in India who kept trying to get me to purchase a ticket ("I'm not interested in a reservation, I'm calling about a CHALLENGE TO ELITE STATUS" -- "What departure city?" --- AGH), before finally getting transferred to a US Call Center, spending another 30 minutes on hold and then being told that there is no challenge program. Incidentally, I did mention I was a United Premier.

I was offered to get my status matched, however I'm more interested in a challenge because I will be flying well over 10,000 miles --> Gold Elite versus Silver Elite by a 2P United Match.

Usually what they do is once you request status match to DL, they will offer challenges instead. So, I would guess you better with a letter or fax your status match request.

I have a quick Q. I alreasdy have 30K on NW this year... I'm debating pushing it 50K or starting to put all my miles on a new One pass card. I'm curious if CO will status match a Gold Elite for NW or should I try to get Silver on both. It isn't an issue of getting another 25K miles as I will have a few overseas trips for work... In addition, how do I go about getting the status match, early next year when I get the NWA Elite card or what?

Thanks for the help!

Hello,

I just faxed over a status match request for Delta, (Contiental Silver Elite currently)

I gave them my email is the contact info.

How does Delta reply to your elite status match requests?

Via fax, or email, or phone, or mail?

Thanks
Jon

In my experience, Delta responds to status match requests BADLY.

First, they are sticklers for detail and rationale explanations. Of the math requests I have tracked, they have completely rejected more than they have granted, and for some of the most bizarre excuses.

Second, they usually offer Challenges, and respond, positively or negatively, by SNAIL MAIL. And it sometimes takes weeks for them to get the envelope dropped into the mail.

It ain't pleasant! If you are lucky enought to get an actual match, the fastest way you will find out is by looking at your status on the website each day. But remember, the snail mail takes a LONG time! (2-6 weeks).

yancantcook Jun 29, 2006 1:12 pm

Wow!

I faxed a letter to Delta requesting Silver Elite (from OnePass Elite) and checked my skymiles account today, and it shows me as Silver Medallion.

I'm surprised they responded so quickly (2 business days) and did not offer a challenge of any kind.

validity of status matches in second half of year

I've seen this touched on in some earlier posts - so apologies if this is all out there already but my head started to spin when I tried to read every entry in this thread - but can anyone give an airline break-down on the validity of status matches issued in July. Wd they just last until end of 2006 or thru Dec 2007? I'm thinking of trying for DL and CO after a recent re-base to NYC, but wd consider holding off if July only got me six months. 18 months on the other hand wd be quite a result! It probably varies carrier to carrier so advice wd be much appreciated

Tks

I believe Star Gold Status comes with the Amex card that costs 395$/Year. My wife swears by it. Maybe you should consider it....

I know quite a few people who have received BMI Gold this year by submitting a copy of their AA Plat credentials/statement. You should have the same kind of success.

CO Status Match info from the horse's mouth:
http://web2.flyertalk.com/forum/show...2&postcount=15

Elite matches made after June 1 will automatically be renewed for the subsequent year's program - for example, if you qualify for an Elite Match now, it'll apply through Feb 2008. ^

ORDinary Gold Jul 10, 2006 3:14 pm

FWIW, the following worked. I faxed this to them and UA responded by email 10 days later. They upped me from General Member to Premier Exec, expiring in 2/08. I had 16,951 YTD EQMs on the AA statement I sent, dated 6/26/06.:

Date: June 26, 2006

Number of pages including this cover: 2

To: UA Mileage Plus Service Center
Premier Service Match

Fax number: 605-343-0215

From: ORDinary Gold, Mileage Plus # 99999999999

Message:

As you can see from my attached statement, I am currently have “Platinum” status on American Airlines, but I would like to shift my business to United. I have a trip booked on UA for tomorrow (conf # X9X9XX), and a number of additional trips in the works, which I would prefer to fly on UA if you would be willing to match my elite status to your equivalent level.

Please feel free to call me at 999-999-9999 or email if you have any questions.

My Mileage Plus number is 99999999999.

Thanks in advance for your consideration.

Comp at UA for AA Gold?

ORDinary Gold is now ORDinary Platinum. So the comp is AA Plt to US 2p
