DL is taking forever to acknowledge my status match request
Anyone have any idea what turn time to expect recently from DL?

status match on qatar airways
Hi!
Holding a TG's ROP gold and would like to switch to a couple of return flight from europe to SEA a year flying Qatar, most likely in C. Want to keep doing 50000+ miles with TG though but 2 return flight in C are enough are enough to retain gold with Qatar. can I get a status match from them??Is BKK or paris a better place to ask?, Even if I don't get the match 2 C class return trips would be enough to achieve gold the first year on condition they give me Silver after the first flight and not only at the end of the year. Any experience on those issues?? Thanks for all useful info Luis |
Probably you should do it over again. We did it twice and D said they did not receive it -so we forgot about it.

Any member of OneWorld offer Status Match?
Do any members of OneWorld offer Status Match of *G? I know AA sort of offer to status match if you meet their "challenge", but any who will just match you if you send over your statements and card (I'm *G) - I wondered if Iberia / Finnair / smaller OneWorld may do.
Thanks |
CO Onepass fax number for anyone interested (didn't see it posted)

Thanks Finnair did status match an associate of mine but that was related to a new route opening so I don't know if that is routine or not. ;) (I will try my luck too.) |
Merry Christmas to me!!!
This year has been a very strange travel year for me. Normally, I fly between 100k and 200k miles per year for business. This year, however, I was on a local project for the first 8 months of the year. Then in October, had some health problems, so have been working from home for most of November and December. So, I have flown very little by my standards.
In addition, my travel patterns changed when I was traveling. My project was in Portland. I used to fly United exclusively, but this year I got engaged and did not really want to spend as much time in airports as I have in the past. (go figure) Anyhow, Alaska has direct flights at perfect times for me, so I asked for (and received) a status match in August to MVP Gold. It expires at the end of this year. In August, it looked as if there was no problem with requalifying for MVP Gold. However, with the health issues, I did not even qualify for MVP!!! I was facing being statusless for 2006. I called AS MP to ask them if they would take pity on me. They comped me MVP Gold for another year!!!! THEY ROCK!!! |
your post is giving me hope. i'm going to ask UA to take pity on me for 2p. short 1k+ and most prob won't be able to travel before end of year.

UA Status Match
I have attempted a UA status match. I have faxed them, 2x already, and at least a half-dozen emails. I even wrote to them asking if they recieved my 2nd fax. They cannot answer, and I must wait 7-10 days.
I'm ready to book a flight for 1/5. If I do not hear back from UA I will just go ahead with the AA challenge. Thanks for FT and members providing this information to us all ^ |

At least you get some sort of response. I get nothing again and again, and I am really a patient guy sometimes. I guess I should have a better attitude around Christmas, and give UA a break ;) I would think they would more than welcome someone WANTING to use their airline, or maybe they think they have enough customers. I need to book my 1/5 Shanghai trip, maybe I'll use them anyway, and put a refundable ticket on their books. |

Colleague requested a comp to Diamond from Hyatt. Faxed in SPG Plat and HHonors Gold. Took a full month (to the day!) to get a response, but yesterday they were upgraded to Diamond status.

VERY short elite membership for CO
On Dec 9th I sucessfully status matched to CO from AA. I got my card in the mail today, and it expires 02/06 (not 02/07!). I've got three cross country trips scheduled in March and April alone.
Anyone have any ideas? I booked myself in preferred economy for my trip in April. If my elite status expires in Feb, can I still sit there? Thanks |

UA PremExec matches
Has anyone who recently matched to UA PremExec gotten e-upgrade certs with the match, or did they start with a 0-balance?
Thanks |
zero balance
|
status match w/ ua does not start you out w/ any e-upgrades.
however it doesn't reset your mleage counter for earning the upgrades to zero either (in other words if you're a 2P and have miles towards the next set then you won't have to start from zero to earn more) |
i have about 42k miles in nwa and i am a silver elitle member, i will shortly be flying with cx ( and other oneworld partners) and wanted to know if i would be able to get a status match with aa or really anbody else due to the fact by nwa status will drop in about 2 months. thanks

AA status match
the only thing I've read about this is the Gold/Platinum challenge, but you need to sign up before you travel I believe.
|
spoke to UA
They said the screen is down until 1/9! So if anyone is looking for a status match before then, get in line! I was told to fax it in again, and they were having problems with the fax machine in December LOL
So, I've faxed in twice, emailed and called. I will not count on my status match. In fact, I was just told to fax it in again! LOL! Does this seem crazy to anyone else or only me?!?!! :p |
where can i sign up for it? ive looked on the aa website. also if im flying a cx flight but use my new aa membership# does that count as miles
|
Sorry

You can find everything you need to know in this thread or the AA section, knowlege is the key. Everything you need to knw is here if you just read and read. Believe me ;) |
Do you mean the comp to Gold, challenge to Plt?

AS status match: how long does comped status stay valid? Cutoff?
Q for folks who have status-matched into AS's MVP/MVP Gold program: how long does the status last?
In AA's program, status matches made after July-ish stay valid for the entire following year. Wondering if there's a similar cutoff date for AS status matches. At some point in the calendar year it becomes unrealistic to think that a newly transferred flyer is going to fulfill the seg/mile requirements for the year. -KF |
NW Silver elite..match to continental?
I just recently got silver elite on Northwest Worldperks...Wanted to get match on continental since i fly on both airlines frequently..called continental and they seemed very reluctant to do it..said that they match everyone except Northwest worldperks..I am new to this whole match thing so i am confused..and should i ask for match on American Advantage..
Having just made NW Silver elite for the first time, this is a whole new world to me. Thanks for any feedback.. |

Continental will recognize your NW status though, so you're set anyway. |

Not sure the exact cutoff date, but certainly a match done in say October will be good through 12/31 of the following year. |

What is required for a 1K status match?
I did a search for status matching to MP 1K and the information seems to reflect that it does happen, but only on very rare occasions. Does anyone know what is required or know of anyone who actually succeeded?

KLM Flying Blue status match
Anybody with any experience with matching AA PLT status with KLM's Flying Blue program. I travel to India often and on KLM and have flying blue miles but dont have status yet.

Getting around Once-in-a-lifetime
I was reading this thread, and came across a query which made me curious.
Can one get around the once-in-a-lifetime deal by changing addresses/ signing up for a new account? What would the punishment be if one was caught. Also, do certain programs not apply the once-in-a-lifetime rule. I heard AS allows you to statusmatch once every two years. |
