Success!
As a huge CO flyer, I was very excited to see this offer. Both the hubby and I printed online coupons (https://www.chase.com/index.jsp?pg_n..._Consumer_9938) and strolled over to the nearest Chase bank. 30 minutes and 1 very nice account representative later, we had successfully opened personal Chase Checking accounts with Chase Continental Airlines Preferred Debit Cards.
Here's the skinny:
Hubby:
12.5K miles Continental debit bonus
2.5K Chase debit card enrollment bonus
$100 cash (Chase was running simultaneous promos, and the hubby opted for cash over 10K miles)
less $25 debit card annual fee
15K miles + $75 cash
Self:
10K miles Chase checking bonus
12.5K miles Continental debit bonus
2.5K Chase debit card enrollment bonus
less $25 debit card annual fee
25K miles for $25
We've used the miles to book flights home for the holidays

For personal checking, I didn't even order the check. The banker opened business checking for me and yesterday I received the both debit card and pile of first set of checks.
I don't recall ordering the check for business account and just wonder whether this is free?

There is also a promo for first set of checks free on a business account. The banker probably just added that as well.

Another weird thing with debit card transactions for biz account. Just got my ms debit card for biz account and did a few pin-less transactions at gas station and online payment. The 4 transaction all went through but it didn't reduce my account amount on the chase side (still 500 available). I don't do this often (first for biz account) but do remember debit card transaction will available fund on the bank side even you do pin-less transaction like credit card. What's missing?
Another data point is that after 3 gas station transactions, the 4th one got declined. I guess it's due to security reason. Last time I got the same thing for my chase personal debit card but it was at the same gas station. This time, it happened again even I did at 3 separate gas stations. Interesting, uh...
Last time, it's unfrozen the next day automatically and I will try another transaction today to see if it's the same story this time around.

I tried the thread search for this, and nothing came up.
Signed up online for a personal account, will hopefully have the card soon to do my 5 transactions. My question is at what point can I cancel the account? I'm obviously waiting until the miles post, but will Chase pull them out if I cancel before a certain time period?

Still weird, the transaction I did online today showed up as pending but the 4 transactions I did yesterday are still missing though they went through for sure. Hope they will show up soon and count towards 5 hits.

Gas Station transaction
You dont want to do the smallish amount transaction at gas station pump because this is often the way the thieves employ to test stolen card or cloned card on stolen info - after the successful tests they then run up big charges on the stolen cards.
Therefore such smallish gas station transactions especially being done in rapid consecutive transactions, would trigger fraud alert and your card is frozen.

Thanks for pointing this out. My card is not frozen, however, 4 transactions from yesterday are still missing.

Onepass #?
I applied online using the new promo (10k+15k). However, no where during the application process was I asked for my Onepass number. I tried calling customer service after setting up my account. That rep had no idea what I was talking about, and almost transferred me to Continental Onepass customer service (moron!)
Does Chase automatically setup a new Continental Airlines number? I'd rather just add my existing Onepass number onto the account. Any suggestions?

The difference between you and me: you are missing the last 1 but I am missing the first 4, haha.
