I think people contacted chase through secure message and requested them to waive debit card fee giving reasoning that like so many good cards waive first year fee so if they could waive on this one. But no guarantees.

+1. Also indicate you understand it's your responsibility to understand terms, yadda yadda, but it was unexpected because (in my personal case) the fee was charged 8 weeks after account opening. Could, as a gesture of good will, they reverse the fee? And if not, that's acceptable and you will not escalate the issue further.

Worked for both accounts. May have helped that I have lengthy credit history with Chase, maybe not. Who knows.

Is this fee waiver request also working for personal account? Did anybody try and succeed?

I might have to open an business account for the first time.

I have a couple of long-standing active checking accounts at Chase, which I'm not planning to close in the foreseeable future.

The T&C state, "This bonus mile offer is not available to customers with an existing Chase checking account."

Is there any way around this, so I could open a third personal account and get the bonus miles?

I have had the United chase checking account for forever, but I have open a Continental checking once every year for four years. (open CO account, then close the CO account, 4 times) I have always maintain 2 checking accounts only, never had any problems with bonuses.

When did you open your accounts this year? That existing account wording was added mid-year. I opened my accounts before it was added, and my bonus posted without any problem although I had two existing accounts by then.

If I earned 25k from the last checking account promo (ending oct 1), can I cancel that one and sign up for this promo again?

Based on the terms, it would seem I would get the 10k bonus (limit 1 per checking account) but not the 15k bonus (limit 1 per customer per calendar year).

FWIW, the 22,500 miles from the personal account I opened online 9/28 just posted to my Onepass account today dated 10/13. That was my third personal account since December 2009, so it was double dipping for 2010. PLUS one business account in December 2009 AND one in business account 2010. FIVE total accounts all within the last 10 calendar months, all successfully posted to my Onepass account sans the last 2500 which I am quite certain I will see in a couple more weeks.
