Final 2,500 miles came in on Friday and I redeemed for a ticket already.
Thanks OP

Thanks. Not finding how to open the biz on line though. Maybe I missed the link?

You haven't missed anything. Can't open business account online.

Annual fees for Continental Debit Cards.

So, I've been fairly successful at getting the annual fees refunded on these cards. I do a secure email to customer service after having the accounts open for three months and state that I was shocked to review my statement and see the annual fee. I explain that I was under the impression that it would be assessed at the end of the year if I was happy with the card at that point (or some other variation of why I think I shouldn't get hit w/ the fee), and so far I've been successful 7/8 times in getting the fee reversed (this includes personal and biz accounts last year and this for myself and wife). Sometimes it takes a couple emails back and forth, but it has saved me a couple hundred in fees. YMMV, but thought I'd share my experience.

FT rocks (like you did not know this already :-))

Recd. a call back on Monday. They researched the issue and Chase has rewarded the missing mileage which is expected to show up in my Continental OnePass account in a couple of weeks.

Thanks to everyone who helped with this.

Now, if I open a business account with a different address (business accounts not available in my state), how would that fly with Chase? I am planning to try it (and will report results) but if someone has done this to get around the issue of not having business accounts available in your state, please do post/PM.

Thanks again!!

Not quite the same fact pattern, but I opened up biz accounts in OR w/ WA address w/o a problem. Good luck.

Congrats! Glad it worked out for you. Keep an eye out for the mileage to post - my wife's didn't post and we had to call again and open up another case. Worked the second time for her.

Thanks much! Yes, that's the tricky part. It took months to finally make this call. Now I have to bug BOA for miles missing in my husband's virgin atlantic account from last year's promotion. I got the 40K+ miles, he got just 20K something. That one is tougher - I have to pretend to be him since he won't make the call himself

My wife doesn't like to make calls. I try to do everything through secure emails. It sucks when they reply back that "I" have to call in to resolve my issue.

That's exactly where I'm at with BOA. Opened it up via secure message several times and insisted I don't have time to call. But that's where we end up, call XYZ number.

Need some help or clarification

My husband and I both opened personal accounts, mine at the end of May and his in mid June. We both fulfilled the spending requirements of the promotion in the first 30 days via debit card purchases. To date, my account has posted 10k and 2.5k and his only 10K. Is this normal? Should I wait longer or call? and the number to call (877) 292-4273? And does anyone know if there is a minimum time required to keep the accounts open? We're ready to close already but know this is a no-no when you haven't received all your miles yet. thanks for the insight.

Yeah, I wouldn't close accounts until you get all the miles. I don't think the timelines you described are abnormal. I'd give them 8 weeks after you hit requirements to call. They aren't going to do anything before then anyways.

Most people report that for the personal account, the confirmation paper that the banker gives you with the tracking number has a clause on it that the account must remain open for six months. I don't recall any report of a time period for the business account, but conventional wisdom on this thread appears to be to leave them both open for six months and then close them if you wish.

when you cancel the account do you have to close the account and then call to cancel the debit card separately?
