I'm assuming that there is nothing to prevent someone from doing five separate $1 (or $5, or whatever) payments in a row, on the same day. Is this what some of you have successfully done?
The question on similar lines is: Can I break one bill at nearby grocery store into 5 bills? Is it possible?

I've been wondering about that. If have Verizon set up on auto payment and make some additional one-time payments, do they reduce the amount of the auto payment or does it still automatically charge the statement balance and result in a credit amount equal to the additional payments that were made earlier? Thanks!

I don't know about Verizon, but I have done one-time payments to my Comcast account (where I have monthly auto payments set up). Comcast reduces the auto payment when one-time payments are made. For example, if my auto payment is $90, but I put in a one-time payment of $30 then the auto payment for that month is reduced to just $60.

That would work. I usually do 5 purchases under $10 each.

Just check out 5 times with 1 item each or something. The grocery store clerks and other shoppers will hate you though.

Thankfully my lunch place runs it through as a credit card so I am covered.

Yes they're smart enough to only charge what you actually owe, not a set amount. If you do it between the time when your statement prints and the card is charged then it may still charge for the full amount. Then you just have a credit that will be applied to next month's bill.

I have read through all the recent threads and nobody confirms or denies being able to double dip with a business checking and personal checking since the new T&C are on the coupons. I was giong to drive an hour tomorrow to open a business checking, but now I am having second doubts.... What do you guys think? Is it worth the risk and debit card fee?

I opened a personal and biz account on the same day.

I have received 10K labeled "Chase Checking Bonus" - I'm assuming this is for the personal account since it doesn't say business checking. If so, it's from the 5 debit card purchases I made within 60 days.

I have also received 12.5K labeled "Continental Debit Bonus" - can't tell if that's from the personal or business accounts as the requirement for the 12.5K + 2.5K is the same for both - make a non-pin debit purchase within 60 days.

So I got 22.5K but from which accounts I have no clue yet.

The funky, contradictory thing is the #2 footnote on the coupon for the business account - bolding mine:

The second 15,000 bonus OnePass mile award will be credited to your OnePass account after the fifth qualifying purchase is made. Please allow 6-10 weeks after your first qualifying purchase for bonus OnePass miles to post...
Though the biz debit purchase requirement is only supposed to be one, that simple terms discrepancy (whether it's a copy/paste fail by marketing or whatever) has me thinking I'll go buy 4 more packs of chewing gum at the self checkout with the business debit.

I want all 50K if I can get it!

Thanks for the info - great to know Verizon is an option for these small "one-timers" even when auto-pay is initiated. Always learning new tricks thanks to everyone on FT

I have 6 family accounts and fill gas 1-2 gallons at a time with each card. Takes about 5 minutes more at a time. Saves 30$ a month in fees alone. Total miles = 150k. You CANNOT use the same card 6 times - AFAIK with other similar promos counts as 1 transaction if at the same merchant in 1 day. So just carry 2 cards to the grocery store. Buying milk 1 gallon at a time for a family will do it as well.

ArizonaGuy, do you have both accounts with the same user ID or with different user IDs for personal and business at Chase? I have all our Personal Accts done, but have not yet started on the Biz accts.

Is this requirement something new? I opened mine online.

I got the same issue... 10k posted and 12.5k posted.... 2.5k is still missing.

I only opened a personal account... I already had an old OnePass account but I opted for Chase to create a new one and boy did they screw it up.

I received 22 OnePass miles for my 5 Debit Card purchases on a new OnePass account that uses the letter of my middle name for first name: "P" and my last name.

I received 22,500 OnePass miles on another OnePass account for which I receved another welcome mailer with a new pin etc. that only has "P" as an account name. No first name, no last name... just "P"

WEIRD!

I just recd. 10k miles. I opened both the biz checking and the personal. It says "Chase Checking Bonus". I'm pretty sure this is the biz account opening bonus because I haven't made 5 purchases on either card.

Business and personal accounts are kept separate. You will have to set up a new login ID which they'll usually do with you if you open the account at a retail branch. Not sure how that will work precisely if you sign up online though I would bet it's accounted for in the process somewhere.

I've personally never had a business bank account or credit card from anyone that didn't require a separate login.

You can link your personal account to your biz account online so that you can see all under the same biz login. Can't do the reverse according to my bank teller.
