I had two Chase checking accounts that I closed last week. Yesterday, I went to a branch and opened a new one. The banker said I was eligible to get the 25K bonus. However, I didn't get any printed confirmation. He gave me back the coupon and said that the coupon number was the tracking number, which is certainly not like what is discussed here and I read only after I came home from the bank. He asked for my OnePass number twice because the computer asked him to enter it in two different places. He verbally confirmed that everything was good. Without printed confirmations, should I be worried? Is there any other way to confirm that I was indeed enrolled in the promotion?
This thread has the COLLECTIVE information from posters around the country on this deal and such information has been proven far more accurate than some from clueless bankers. If you search this thread you would find at least one case or may be even two, that the banker(s) screwed up the account open process and the poster(s) did not get their bonuses long passed the normal period. They had to call the 1-800 number (posted again by a kind soul just now) to sort things out.

Your banker did not know what he was doing. There are SPECIFIC places to input the coupon code - one for the opening the account, one for the debit card transaction related bonus. When we opened our business accounts, the banker forgot to print the 2nd tracking number page related to the debit card. I had reminded her to go back a few screens in the system to hunt for it and she found it. They dont need the physical coupons but they do need the code to input in the system. And NO, the tracking number is NOT the coupon code at all.

weird,, I deposited 1000 money into my biz checking from my friends' checking by a written check, however, they put a hold of one week on 900$, saying that the deposit check is not consistent with the account's normal deposit activity.
I do not quite understand what is going on here, does anybody has a clue?

Debit Card Annual Fee
Hey-
In the past, the debit card annual fee has been debited on the 17th of the month following the opening of the account. So, if I opened an account in November, I would expect the debit card fee to hit December 17 or next biz day. I haven't got hit w/ the debit card fee yet. What timing of debit card annual fees have others experienced recently?
Oh, this is for biz account.
Thanks.

Hi - please don't yell at me if this is a stupid question....but I imagine that having an airline DEBIT card give you the option of going into CVS, making a 3 dollar purchase, taking 400$ cash back, getting the 403 miles, then just putting the money back into the bank the next day? 3$ spend - 403 miles?
Maybe.....probably not, they've got to have a way to block this from happening, right?

You need to read the fine print of the offer so you would not ask this question as the answer is right there.

Just finally got to "chase" this down, and it looks like I'm too late, as reading the T&C it seems the debit card purchases have to be made by 12/31 to get the miles. At least to get the second 15K.
Hard to imagine they could have a debit card in my hands even if I was able to open by phone or internet - if in person I was going to do next Thursday when I'm back home. Am I reading that wrong?
(Not like the Delta SunTrust offer, which allows you to open by 12/31/10 and then until 1/31/11 to make the debit transaction.)
Unless anyone can tell me I'm reading this wrong, (which I'd love to hear!) I think I'm going to have to just wait and hope they offer this again next year.
Happy holidays, all.

Offer valid through December 31, 2010. To qualify for the reward you must open a new Chase CheckingSM account with a $100 minimum opening deposit of new money (money not currently held by Chase or its affiliates). Also, to qualify for the first 10,000 bonus miles you must make 5 debit card purchases with any Chase debit card linked or used to access the new account or initiate a repeating direct deposit such as payroll, Social Security or other government benefits. The 5 debit card purchases or first direct deposit must be completed within 60 days of account opening to earn the bonus miles. Initial 10,000 bonus miles will be deposited in your OnePass account 6-10 weeks after the 5 debit card purchases or initial direct deposit has posted to the new account.

Hi CMH and thanks
Hmmm...I guess I was focused on the first part of the T&C, that the offer was valid through 12/31...I see what you're saying, that maybe just getting under the wire to open the account is enough and then you can qualify w/ the ATMs later. Anyone else got an idea over which way this would likely be judged? Anyone in a similar boat for a previous cut-off?

I did my personal earlier this year. Want to try and get the business before the end of the year.
If I understand correctly, I can say that I sell on eBay and have that credited as a business? I'm a little hazy on the Tax ID issue.
Suggestions?
