How do you know that? I was not yet notified of this change and CSRs are not so reliable.

Will this offer be renewed/extended for next year?
If I don't open this by December 31st, will they extend this offer? The first post said this is re-occurring. Should I apply now or hold out for a better offer? Will they give me 25K miles for both the personal and business, or just one or another? (totaling 50k)

Why anyone would open a Chase account when free accounts are all over. Maybe they plan on upping the bonuses

I doubt thay will increase the bonus. With all the new banking rules, the bank revenue is decreasing, espesially in the debit card/credit card and overdraft areas. The days of the free checking are coming to an end. In order to not have a monthly fee you will need to bring the bank revenue by swiping your debit/credit card or keeping a balance or keeping x amount of funds/investments/loans with the bank. In other words, you ned to bring them enough revenue to offset your expense of having the account.

It has already been announced that Chase will stop offering new Continental debit cards in Feb. 2011. We are nearing the last hurrah.

From the Wall Street Journal:
"J.P. Morgan Chase announced this week that it is moving away from debit cards. Starting in February, the lender won't issue debit reward cards to any of its new customers, according to Charlie Scharf, head of retail financial services at the bank."

The normal T&C is one per year. So while this offer is still open get it. If it becomes available next yr take it again.

That said, Chase will NOT offer reward debit card effective next February.
And if you spend some time to read this thread you would have found the answers to your last question regarding the 2 types of accounts.
Finally the business account must be opened at the branch so if your location does not have Chase you would then can only open the personal account online and no business account is even possible.
Spend some time to read the thread because all your questions have been answered direct or indirectly other than that nobody can tell you with any certainty that there would be same offer come next year especially in light of recent development.

There is a rumor that they are going to increase the minimum DD to $500 in Feb.

Current Accounts will be subject to the SAME requirements as the New Accounts.
Now we will see how long the 5 debit card transactions dont have to be at a minimum amount would survive.

Thanks, but it does not mean it will apply to current account holders. I have an old free account that has no requirements at all. So unless we get it in writing, nothing changes. It does mean though that for new accounts it will be very different.
