Singapore Airlines to United/Continental/USAirways
Help guys, I am about to trip over to Star Alliance Gold on Singapore Airlines but ever since March there is no reason for me to be on them. I used to use them because of flights to and from Singapore and the Star Alliance + Delta thing.
Now every flight I take is on one of the these three: United/Continental/USAirways. Does anyone know how to get my status matched to one of those three airlines? It would be nice to get upgraded every once in a while.
Thanks!

A match to Continental should work easily OnePass Gold Elite should be the equivalent.

They had that once as part of a *A promo where every *A member would take a match. Man that was a mess from Asiana. 2 month delay for the match plus a non-sensical email led me to match with BD instead and to earn OZ status the "hard way"

Not entirely sure that much of the FT community will take advantage of this one but I'm sure at least one of you can use this!
Aerosvit Meridian is now offering a status match to any other airline's elite status level.

Piiit, did you get the upgrades with the status match? I havent been in mood to ask for a status match from Lan because while I do have status I have no airline activity this year. Around 10k tops. I do plan doing a SYD-AKL-SCL-LIM-CCS with them. But I never understood the point since I'm in the same alliance. Hehe

Faxed in my CO Platinum statement to Delta last night - already given Platinum Medallion (less than 24 hours after faxing) and I think they gave me 1000 miles too!
After logging in, and adding my medallion # to a reward ticket a friend of mine gave me, I'm already upgraded to first on one of the legs. I didn't know Delta upgraded reward tix, but I'm happy to be flying Delta now!

It's a recent thing. You will notice a big difference with DL upgrades. Most of mine (to/from SFO) clear at T-6 days! Haven't missed one all year.

Delta Platinum To CO Match
I am currently Platinum elite on Delta and Gold Elite on CO. I will be carrying both of these status levels into next year. I was thinking about asking for the match with CO so I would be Platinum on both. However, if I wait until Jan. or Feb. of 2011, and then request the match will it carry through the rest of that year and the next? Usually when you qualify with normal miles, you get that status level for the rest of the year you qualified and all of the next year. If I stick it out as Gold elite for the rest of the year on CO, could I essentially secure Platinum status with CO for virtually all of 2011 and 2012 if I matched at the beginning of 2011? Could the United merger pose a problem? If so, should I ask for the match immediately?

Well I got no love from South Africa airlines SAA,
Maybe the person reading my email did not understand that 1K was top tier at United,
Anyway I sent an email back with a link to United's 1Ks requirements page, maybe that will change their minds.
Hopefully will find out in a day or 2

^ Based on the way Continental matches, status will only be valid for the entire following year if you match in the second half of the year. So if you match between now and next June, your status will only be good through the beginning of 2012 either way.

CO have confirmed that as BA has only two tiers of membership they only match BA Gold to CO Gold. I've asked them nicely to put me back to being an ordinary member!
And I can confirm that they've done this - Gold for 2 days, is that some sort of record?

1-Has Continental changed their Status Match policy as of yet-in view of the United merger?
2--Am I correct: When CO grants Status Match it is generally not conditioned on you flying a certain number of miles within a short period -such as the first 90 days?
