LAN told me that they would match as follows:

CO OnePass Gold Elite = LAN Premium Silver
CO OnePass Platinum = LAN Comodoro
VS flying club Gold = LAN Comodoro
bmi DC Gold = Probably Comodoro with a lot of milage...

Everytime it seems to need a lot of milage for the match to really happen. Any addition to this list or information?

Does anyone know if Hainan Airlines does status matches? I'm doing a lot of flights from SEA next year to points in China, and think this would be a good option?

Throwing out a question...

A friend is on a Premier Executive challenge with United (fly 15,000 miles in 90 days to maintain status), which he started in August. Anyone have experience as to whether the status would last through January 2012 or whether it expires in January? Since the match occurred in the second half of the year it makes sense to me that it lasts till 2012, but that doesn't seem to be the case...

lucky, i don't think i'm misunderstanding you, but the expiration of the elite status is the same, regardless if a challenge is involved. the qualification period is always the same, jan 1-dec 31. he would qualify for Preimer Exec upon having flown 50K miles (or with the challenge, 15K miles) thru the end of the current year, AND end of the following year, PLUS thru jan/feb of the year after that. so during 2010, whether someone flies 50K by apr 2010, nov 2010, sep 2010, or does all that flying just during the month of jan 2010 alone, they get a card good thru jan/feb 2011 & another one at the beginning of 2011 good thru jan/feb 2012.

so if you qualify on dec 31, your status is good for 13 or 14 months. but if you qualify on jan 31, then your status is good for 24 or 25 months.

sound right? you qualify this year, and get one card good thru the beginning of next year, AND another card thru the beginning of the year after.

I got matched last month to 1P and here's the email I received:

Congratulations! You have been awarded Premier Executive status in the Mileage Plus program! This will make your travel with us comfortable, simple and more rewarding than ever.

Your status will be effective for 90 days. Your 90 day time frame will be August 27, 2010 through November 25, 2010. To remain a Premier Executive member for 2011, you will need to fly 15,000 paid flight miles or 20 flight segments on qualifying flights* within that 90-day timeframe.

If you meet the above required paid flight miles or segment threshold, a Premier Executive kit will be issued and mailed to you. Until you have a card, be sure to add your Mileage Plus number to your reservation in order to fully benefit from your elite status.

I am Delta Silver trying to match to Continental. Can someone confirm the match will last til February 2012? Also, do I need the actual card for anything immediately if I am flying Oct 5 (thinking particularly about upgrades here)? I am moving out of my place and probably won't be able to access my mail starting on Sunday until after I get back on the 5th.

Well I got no love from South Africa airlines SAA,

Maybe the person reading my email did not understand that 1K was top tier at United,

Anyway I sent an email back with a link to United's 1Ks requirements page, maybe that will change their minds.

Hopefully will find out in a day or 2
