CO was still status matching as of 3-4 weeks ago. If your status match is successful, you will get to keep it until 2/2012. No flying requirements.

Since CO only requires documentation of current status, instead of challenge, I think this would be the best option. Any thoughts?
Anybody have any insight on this? I came on here to ask the same question. I am diamond on Delta and am planning the move to *A after the first of the year. If I match on CO (should be good through Feb 2012 right?) then I can select the United E+ seats as of today. Since I am sure United and CO will have the FF programs merged by 2012 why not status match with CO while I still can. I would be shooting for United 1K next year anyway. Thoughts? Strategy?

I think it would be a ghood idea but would get started soon as they may stop accepting matches and force you to contact united directly, It would seen easier to stop accepting any OnePass customers if everything goes to Mileage Plus or viseversa. My guess is Jan 1 2012 is when FF accounts fully merge into 1 as they will start a brand newprogram and be able to get everyone onboard for an exact requirement, and by years end either 1k is getting dropped to 75k or CO plat is 100k. Possibly by the end of the year I think they will annouce requirements for upcoming years elite levels.

This is makes lots of sense and it being United you should probably do the exact opposite of what I say.

That does make sense. As far as doing the exact opposite - it's an airline they are all messed up in their own special way!

If I match with CO would that some how go in the UA records and disqualify me from any further status matches with UA. If not I am matching soon. If so I hate to burn my one match - never know what the future may hold. I do definitely plan on *A next year but it would be nice to know I still have a UA status match in bank.

Need to status match from AA to UA but UA said no

So the company hates AA now and the flight prices on UA are so much cheaper than AA that I am having a hard time booking flights on AA and getting the schedule I want. So I am going to switch to UA. The problem is that I have Platinum status with AA and no status with UA since I haven't traveled on them for a while. I called their help desk and they stated that they don't match status. I'll call Continental next but it seems like others are getting matched so what am I doing wrong? I have a DFW-FRA flight, DFW-NRT flight and DFW-ICN flights coming up in the next 4 months and can meet any challenges but what do I need to say or who do I email to get them to match the status? I've already flown past the 100K mark this year (slow for some of you all but a lot for me )

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Phil

Contact CO via Email (Info given in this thread a lot of times) and then a match to CO Platinum should be given to you.

Does UA require a challenge?

If they do, what are the terms, to fly a certain amount of miles in a certain amount of time?

For 1P, 15K miles within 90 days.
For 2P, 7.5K miles within 90days.
You get the status up-front.

What is 2P, the Premier Executive level?

Does it make sense to make the first flight in November (and not fly again until next year)?

That is, won't be able to accumulate enough to make status. Certainly would meet the challenge requirements.

But then I could start early next year and meet the challenge as well as accumulate (with 100% mileage bonus) to work towards status for 2012.

Has anyone been rejected a status match to Delta because they have used their "once a life time" status match opportunities with then-Northwest? I am thinking about to status match to CO now, but I did not want to lose that once a life time thing to UA in case I'd need it in the future. Thought? Thanks a lot!

I emailed AA about matching status and they replied back to call their AAdvantage customer service line.

So they have a fee-based challenge.

For Gold, it's $120 and 5000 points within 90 days.

For Platinum, it's $200 and 10000 points within 90 days.

You only get 1/2 a point on the cheapest fares.

So they're making the UA and *A more attractive for someone choosing between AA and UA.

If I request a 1P status match early next year, will I be able to use this 15k miles to qualify for 1k the same year?
