A status match with CO can be tricky depending on the agent handling your status match request. I know of those who got matched with a copy of their card alone, while another got asked for copies of statements as well. Both were very recent status match requests.

What is the best way for me to word my request so that they will hopefully match me to CO plantinum? I am aware that some FT members have mentioned they have only received a silver match from CO for their AA platinum.

Should I wait a couple of weeks till I complete another round of flights (RDU-JFK-SFO-JFK-RDU) and wait till it shows up on my account? Does it help to mention in the letter that I am planning on transferring the bulk of my flying to CO since their Newark hub is much more convenient?

Any and all advice accepted.

DL GM here, looking at *A or OW.

How do the AA and UA challenges work? You have to tally 25k or 50k within a 90-day period?

So do you request status match before or after you book a UA flight? How do they track your flight activity during the challenge period? Is there some account number you get?

Or do you just get a MP account and then they track activity on that account?

Yep, you first have to get an MP account and then you submit your documentation for an elite status match. UA approves your request and your MP account reflects the new status. From that point on, you have 90 days to fulfill your part of bargain, travelling 7.5K/15K miles on UA metals only (crediting to your MP account, of course). At the end of the 90-day period, if you meet the challenge, then you get to keep your status and UA mails you the Elite credential.

Latest on FB Status Match

Hi,

Browsing through the thread I see that there was a promotion for Flying Blue to status match UK residents.

Does anyone know the current status if there is an ongoing programme to match status for non UK residents?

Thanks,
Jes

Well I used the Flying Blue status match for UK residents being non-resident. Used London address to register and than change it after the match.

Hmmm I guess I could play that trick, but according to the pdf I found, it was only valid through July 31st

Thanks for the idea though, might give it a shot.

You could pick any UK one. No check there. But I co-own 2 UK companies, so I had even less problem on this.

Match was done in 7 days.

Shame I missed out on this one, interesting it wasnt such a big discussion, i think it was a great offer.

Anyone think there is still a point of applying for it or no chance as the offer ended July 31?

I noticed the other day that the Malev status match offer has been extended to 31st August 2010 (originally 30 June 2010). Fly one one sector on Malev, match to status of any airline.

(At least that's what their website says, although I don't know of anyone who was successful in getting matched to Duna Club Platinum (OW Emerald) - I wasn't.

So AF offers status matches only to people with UK addresses?

Do they offer match for DL SM members?

Do they have better low-miles award availability than DL?

My guess is, Malev will extend this offer again, till they go bankrupt.
