Continental doesn't give SWU for PE -- only at 100k.

From continental.com Platinum Elite members who earn at least 100,000 Elite Qualification Miles (EQMs) or 120 Elite Qualification Points (EQPs) will earn four, one-way electronic System-wide Upgrade certificates. Elite earnings will start Jan. 1, 2010 and be based on a calendar year.

Ah!!! Well that puts a quick end to any hopes I had of upgrades to Asia!
Many thanks for the dashed dreams DavidinSaipan...
Pretty sure this won't stop me from matching, I'm interested in how CO treats their PEs. Also hoping it'll make a difference when I come to redeem my CO miles next year.
Thanks again.

I feel somewhat foolish for asking this, but I honestly am confused. I am trying to status match from DL to CO. Currently, I'm looking for a usable copy of my DL statement, which right now appears to be a big mess online. I don't get physical copies, and I can't remember the last time I received an email from DL with a statement. Can someone help me figure out what to do here? Thanks.

Log in on the delta.com. In the upper left corner, there's a box. Click on the number showing your current total miles. This will open a summary of your account activity. There's a box to select activity by month. Set this to May and it will open a page titled "Monthly Statement - May 2010" that shows your status and EQM's earned to date, among other things.

Setting the month to the previous year doesn't go to a real statement. No matter what month you put in, the "statement" generated shows your current status and EQM's -- not the data from the month in question.

I'm also thinking of doing a status match, but there's been some question as to whether it should be done after June 1 (like last year) or after July 1 in order to have the status match extend through 2012.

Hope this helps. . . .

That's nice to know and thinking about status matching to AS using UA 1K status. Will they status match me to MVP Gold 75k in this situation?

Does anybody know what the cutoff date for CO status matches to last an extra year is? I have seen both June and July 1.

I've searched down this thread but there don't seem to be anything definite one way or the other.

with US being in the *A, will UA or CO match US status?

with US holding back more and more first and less % success for upgrades, even Chairmans/Platinum not feeling the love. Might as well switch to a better airline?

and +1 on whether to wait until after June 1 or July 1.

cheers

I have to admit I havent researched this, but still if any of the master planners here are willing to enlighten me a bit, I would be grateful^

Currently I have (earned!) one world top status (AA executive platinum) exp feb 2011 and star alliance top status (BMI gold) exp mid march 2011.

Until these expire I will have little activity on the accounts. Im not sure if this is a factor in addition to the status when matching.

I fly very little revenue, except the occasional intraeurope small hops.
I dont really care about OW status, will just trade my evips, and use the status for match.

Im interested in keeping *A gold for as long as possible. Main advantages are the biz treatment on the short Y flights, + extra luggage on longhaul.

Obviously I would want to match as late as possible. My AA exp would soft land to platinum from march, so if that one would match me to *A gold after june 2011, valid out 2012, might be best. But some airlines (like BMI) dont use calendar year so maybe matching in february still being AA exp.
And some give status for 2 full years (LH?).

Reason for my change in flying pattern is 2 million cheap US miles to be redeemed in F and C

Any strategy help appreciated. If I can match to different *A gold for the next say 5 years, then I could try to maintain my AA plat for this purpose.

How long will your matched status last? Till Early 2011 or 2012? Past posts seem to indicate if you wait until September it should last until 2012, just interested to see when the magic date would be. Thanks and congrads!

Malev Hungarian just matched my BMI Gold to Duna Club Gold (OW Sapphire).
Emailed a copy of DC card, and a OW boarding pass stub. Showed as Gold within a few hours.
Nice way to get BAEC perks, given my BA travel patterns (mostly EDI-LCY in cheapy economy) and their stingyness (5 tier points per sector), I will probably never even reach Silver.

When you say OW boarding pass, did you actually fly on MA to get this? I understood one MA sector was the requirement?

Yup. Sorry. Meant to say MA bp stub. I flew a return to Budapest from London.
I'm guessing though you could buy the cheapest MA ticket available, then use online checkin giving you a BP for a sector.

Question Continental discontinues matching

I called Continental's Customer Service on May 25 and asked if I could have my DL Gold Medallion matched to OnePass. The agent said Continental has discontinued matching.

While waiting on the phone, the automated recording said Continental and United were merging. I don't know if this has caused Continental to put matching on hold.

Has anyone been matched by Continental recently?
