CO to AA -- match? challenge?
I fly frequently to SFO from Texas, and have the choice of flying CO through IAH, or AA through DFW. I've stuck with CO, and am familiar with its IAH - SFO route. I'm CO Gold, and have odd mileage on my AA FF account.
With the merger, I am looking at migrating to AA, but feel stuck with CO because of my Gold status. Anyone had any luck in getting their CO elite status matched by AA? Did AA transfer the CO mileage into Aadvantage mileage, one to one? Did they honor the CO Gold status by granting similar elite status in Aadvantage? If forced into a challenge by AA, how many miles were required to meet the challenge? It seems to me that AA should be inviting to those CO elites like me not happy with the UA merger, by making it easy and painless for us to migrate. One last thing. Anyone able and willing to compare the IAH-SFO CO route to the DFW-SFO AA route, as far as pricing, convenience, service, planes, etc.? |

I email and faxed my CX gold card and statement copies to CO and DL respectively last week and they took less than five working days to match me to their gold status, i.e. *A Gold and ST Eilte (non-plus). But its quite surprising that one year individual Delta Sky Club membership was granted to me together with the DL gold status so that I still can access ST lounges (m i rite? I m not so sure about that) when i fly with them. ^^^^
However, I got the same question, where I can find the expiry date of my CO elite status? I cant find any info in the Onepass website and I heard that they would grant extra year for those doing status match after 1st June. If it is really the case I would be so sad... :( Never heard of that before. (a membership gets you in even on domestic flights, unlike platinum status alone) |

Just to clarify -- I should wait till June 1 to ask for a status match so it expires 2012? is that correct? I have seen the word threshold or cutoff used and since I am inexperienced in the intricacies of status matching, I want to make sure I am doing the right thing.
Thanks for the help!! Can someone please let me know -- on CO, if I wait till June 1, I get an extra year? Thx! |

Yup I just logged in today and found they granted me free DSC membership till May 2011. It MAYBE due to I mentioned something about I wanna got same status as cx gold so that i can use the airport lounge, priorty baggage handling...blah blah blah... in my status request email. As DL gold alone wont allow me to use the ST lounges so they grant me this as additional benefit. So anyone who cant match DL Plat (ST Elite plus) may try to mention this and see whether could get the DSC membership too.

I emailed a photo of both my BMI and DL elite cards to Alaska, and received MVP Gold Status in....wait for it....a record 24 minutes. I know this because I was logged in searching for flights right after sending the email off to them, and my profile magically became Gold right before my eyes!
Thanks, Alaska! |

I think I already know the answer to this, but wanted to check if anyone knew anyway. I am planning on matching from DL to CO, Platinum. Will I be sent any SWU? My guess is no, but who knows! Anyone done this recently who can shed some light?

Thanks roadtripman for the information!
Could you share the Alaska email to which you sent your elite cards? I'm gonna follow your step too. Thank you!
