Do you know if your status match from yesterday is valid through Feb 2012?

While waiting on the phone, the automated recording said Continental and United were merging. I don't know if this has caused Continental to put matching on hold.

Has anyone been matched by Continental recently?

I just got a response from CO regarding status matches. It hasn't been done yet, but it will be soon. The exchange I had also somewhat answered the June/July question. Below is a consolidated email exchange with [email protected], with dates:

Me (June 3): Requested information about status matching and provided my travel patterns.
CO (June 6): Was told I would be matched through December 2010.
Me (June 6): Stated that I would like a match through December 2011 as 6 months is insufficient time to requalify, and I would "have to reconsider my travel choices".
CO (June 9 - Today): Reponsed stating that my status will be valid through February 2012

I'm not sure if the second rep was more knowledgable than the first (possible since the first said Dec 2010, not Feb 2011), or that my "negotiating" email got me a better deal.

Either way, I am about to get a CO match as of June 9, valid through February 2012.

Thank you all for your great advice and counsel -- I just received my CO Platinum match and could not have done that without the help of my fellow flyers... THANK YOU!!!!

Questions...
-Did you do it via phone or email?
-For how long is it valid?
-If one is DL Gold, any idea what level CO will match?
-Any indication that CO will stop doing matches?

Thanks!

- Sorry, I have no idea if/when they will stop
Good luck!

Thank you all for replies indicating Continental is still matching. I'll try again to ditch DL. What dept have you been dealing with? Does anyone have a phone number or email address?

Thanks in advance.

Do you have an email address that one can inquire about matching over to Continental?

I am moving from ATL to SFO in August. I am DL FO (lowest tier). What would be the best time to request UA status match to get the 2P benefit for 2011 also?

Edited to add: I will try to ask my question on the UA board (more relevant).

I'm ExpPlat on UA. 50/50 chance I'll make it to 1K this year. My odds will improve by taking a weird CO flight to SGK. My question: given the merger, is there any reason I would want to status match on CO (when I would collect the points in UA anyway)?

For those of you lucky enough to book your travel through HRG:

Hidden away in offers is free BD silver and AF gold. Don't know whether this is specific to the company I work for, or if it's for all the users of HRG.

AA status match form / found on global sales AA website

found this form on AA's global sales website for a status match up to platinum. i believe this is not for the general traveler, but perhaps for companies shifting business to AA, to accommodate their frequent travelers during the transition, however, i could be wrong.

Hi guys,

I'm wondering if Continental is only doing Status Match for other equivalent Card Holders of US Airlines? I'm Platinum with a One world Airline in Europe.

Since I will be flying soon often to the US should I try to get a match by One Pass?

Thanks for any feedback.
Kind regards,
