DL Gold to UA Premier Executive is no problem at all, there will be a challenge to fly 15000 miles within 90 days, though. I friend of mine submitted his request as of today and got a positive reply within hours.

Not trying to cross-post, so mods, if this is in violation, I apologize - just trying to spread the word for the benefit of others.

I finally received my DL status match, after 3 weeks (unlike the 24-48 hour turnaround some have reported). More info in this post over in the DL forum. Short version: 3 faxes, 3 phone calls, 1 email, and 3 weeks later, I got matched from UA 1K to DL Gold medallion. Moral of the story: stick with it, and eventually you'll get your match. Wuh-oh, now I'm sounding like a motivational website for the dumped...

Will the matched UA 1p expire in 2012 or 2012, assuming your friend flies only 15000 by the end of this year?

CO Plat Elite
 

CO matched me to Plat Elite. It took about a week, and they asked for statements in addition to the usual copy of the OA elite card.

Their status match process is not as fast as it used to be. I wonder if it has anything to do with the merger.

1P will expire in 2012.

Without reading all the posts here, can someone advise if Air Canada will match elite . I am Platinum with Delta and if they do what level can I expect. Also what about Continental. How do I proceed.Thanks

CO Plat Matched to DL Plat
 

I'm very happy to report that after SEVERAL weeks of waiting (and repeated follow up calls) I was matched from CO Plat to DL Plat.

I find myself considerably lucky since I have read over and over that DL rarely does a Plat match.

I recently became platinum on AA through a platinum challenge. I am also lifetime gold (but mostly through CC purchases) and my account shows 500,000 miles (and 1.5 M miles to date). I am planning to apply to CO for a status match. My statements will obviously show a limited amount of flying. What is the best way for me to word my request so that they will hopefully match me to CO plantinum? I am aware that some FT members have mentioned they have only received a silver match from CO for their AA platinum.

Should I wait a couple of weeks till I complete another round of flights (RDU-JFK-SFO-JFK-RDU) and wait till it shows up on my account? Does it help to mention in the letter that I am planning on transferring the bulk of my flying to CO since their Newark hub is much more convenient?

Any and all advice accepted.

Well, even if you had earned AA Plat, you your chances of CO matching to Plat would be zero: AA Plat is the equivalent of CO Gold.

Other than that, when I matched back to CO 3 years ago, they asked only for the card and not the statement, so you might have a shot at gold, but don't be shocked if you get silver.

DL Platnium to United Premier
 

I'm a platinum on Delta. Is there anyway I can me matched to Premier on United instead of Premier Exec? There is no way I'll be able to hit Premier Exec matched flying target this year within 90 days.

Also, am I stupid to leave Delta for United? I fly out of Boston to Tokyo and Shanghai.

Depends what your goals are...domestic upgrades, intl upgrades, award potential? Personally, if I didn't fly often enough to reach top tier, which I don't, I'd look for award potential (i.e. you fly a couple of these trips in Y or J, rack up a few miles here and there, maybe purchase some miles, and you can treat yourself to F every now and then). For that purpose, I prefer US Airways.

I get matched from a FB silver status to CO silver. Already had the silver/FTL status with M&M.

As I saw some posts here...would it be possible to get a FB Gold only by matching by FTL Status from Lufthansa?
