The New List

Hey guys...

I'm planning on disclosing what I have eaten for lunch each day. Seeing as how there are many "spies" on this board, I cannot decide if I should openly post it or not. If you want to be privy to this knowledge, send me a e-mail at [email protected].

Bean Out....

Instead of following your clear instructions to e-mail you, can't I just post a message here saying I want to be on the list? Or maybe I should post a message here so everyone knows that I've e-mailed you wanting to be on your list? Also, will posting my desire to be on your list more than once in any way improve my chances of actually being included in your elite list?

Bean, let me start by saying that I have been around a long time and tried really hard to post lots of nifty tips here on FT. I have given much more than I have taken. Further, you are a great guy, too. I will never be able to thank you enough for all of the boffo hints that you have posted here. By the way, thanks for the private e-mail about the super duper double secret quadruple mileage bonus and the free titanium level frequent guest hotel card.

However, I implore you, please do not post the information about your lunch. It is far too valuable. We wouldn't want it getting into the hands of the wrong people. And by posting it here, everybody would be privy. I don't mind you sharing the information with other members of our club, but we can't let just anybody in.

P.S. I am dying to know what you had for lunch. Even if you decide not to post it, please e-mail me.

I hacked Bean's IP address. I can say with a high degree of certainty that Bean had chinese food for lunch.

I suspect this may indicate some impending very cheap mileage run on Cathay or Singapore? Thoughts?

The decision is, of course, ultimately yours and we will respect it.

But think about this: if that tuna sandwich (sorry, Village Idiot) you bought for lunch today was so good that you're going to rush back down to the same deli tomorrow to buy another tuna sandwich, you may want to keep this all to yourself and not post where the deli is, what kind of bread you ordered, how great the side of coleslaw was, etc.

Otherwise, all the rest of us are going to run blindly down to the same deli screaming for the same tuna sandwich and you'll be left with nothing ... unless of course you don't actually need or want the tuna sandwich, then by all means post it!

That's fine, I'll just wait until the next FT Get Together to learn what you had for lunch and where you got it.

I love this thread!

What would we do if we couldn't laugh at ourselves?

I'm new here, but definitely want to be on the list. What exactly does "lunch" stand for? (Lifelong Upgradeable Nonstop Certificate Help?) I have a really hard time with all of your abbreviations and code words.

Thanks a lot guys. The deli down the street just doubled their prices on tuna sandwiches.

Laugh, RKG, laugh?!! I'm certainly not laughing.

The grocery store down the street just refused to sell me any soup. Sure, they said they were just out of stock, but it's quite clear that they read Bean's message and determined that he had eaten soup for lunch. And he likely bought the soup on sale, so they'll have their revenue protection unit after him in no time. Don't you see it?! And if we aren't careful, the three major grocery stores will ALL stop selling ALL soup ALL at the same time in a coordinated move! Mark my words: the Canadian press will be on to this "soup eating" thing in no time.

BEAN, IF YOU'RE SMART YOU'LL EDIT YOUR MESSAGE TO REMOVE ALL REFERENCES TO EATING!

Sadly, I drove down the street this afternoon and saw long Russian-like lines of people waiting, hoping, to get a scrap of food from their local grocery. Apparently, some fool with a carelessly place comment, has caused a huge run on all food supplies. If he had just been more specific on what the incredible, special food of the day was, maybe there would be some of the other food left.

Does anyone out there know anything about the Sandwich Challenge? I am planning a Lunch run in the next few days and thought about going all the way for the Sandwich Club. I am positive I can reach the Lettuce Club with no problem, given all my future runs to the salad bar, but I thought if maybe I could get help from all of you frequent eaters out there, you might have some ideas. Is the extra run to the deli worth the privileges? Since I am on Bean's list, I should be able to pick up an extra sandwich run cheap! Don't I get extra mustard and preferred napkin placement if I am Sandwich? What about upgrades to wheat bread? Are they free when available, or do I have to pay a small fee? Will I get the wheat option earlier than those who are Lettuce?

Thanks!
Ted L. Nancy
