If you have a fractional or own your own jet, there are still times you will up flying commercial, and then you will be glad you have PM (assuming that PM is worth anything (DL PM is worth far less then it used to be.)
There is nothing like flying on your own jet, but the jet is not available 100% of the time and when it is available, often times it makes more sense then someone to be flying on it then you... or it is not in the right place when you need it...
I guess this is like the mobile phone thread....?

New Program: Through Nov. 15, at least, Air Canada is offering "bulk tickets" (prepaid travel) to Canada, with elite status attached. The Flight Pass to Canada - West program, for instance, is C$2290 (less than US$2000) for 10 one-way tickets between the Western US and Western Canada. You get Air Canada Elite status, which is Star Alliance Gold, for all of 2005 and 2006.

AA is offering to extend existing Gold and Platinum status through Feb. 2007, for between $299 and $599. aa.com/content/urls/elite.jhtml?anchorLocation=DirectURL&title=elite . IIRC, CO made a similar offer last year.

US Air is offering US Silver for $899 and US Gold for $1599, by e-mail. The offer claims to be "exclusive," but it's not limited to existing elites, and it may not be limited to the recipient. "Call the Dividend Miles Service Center at 1-800-856-1621 and mention this special offer. All purchases must be made by January 20, 2006."

Link to specifics of the offer
The price depends on whether you want to continue Gold or Platinum status and on how close to requalifying you were. You can't use this to buy a level you don't already have, and you can't use it if you used last year's similar offer. Despite an erroneous story in USA Today, the topic of a longish thread in the AA forum, there is no similar offer for Executive Platinum.

Has anyone tried switching a different Juniper card to the US Airways one and still got the miles? I think I'll try this first.

Spirit's MasterCard offers lower-tier elite status in the "Free Spirit" program, as well as one status mile per dollar.

I don't think so. There's a lot of talk about the confusion on the Starwood Board. I have that Amex card and it's not a Plat Amex card. Amex offered us a Starwood AMex ard with a high annual fee, etc. And the Plat isn't Starwood Plat either. It's crazy. I did thinl it was a Plat Amex card when we got it.
