Thx to the OP for the UPS bonus heads up! As a side note, this is the fastest mile posting I've ever seen with AE - about 3 hours. If UPS can do it, why not AC?!

I was surprised it was still live when I checked. I guess not too many people online for Christmas.

Actually a lot of people have liked the page beforehand. Not really sure if past likers are eligible?

Has anyone applied for the Alaska Airlines card? Curious how long the welcome bonus takes to post - they do say "upon approval" but then they say 8-10 weeks for the miles to post. Need a redemption soon'ish, wonder if I should risk signing up, or burn SPG instead (which isn't the fastest to post, either).

That was a promo that lasted about one month this past summer (even through GCR cash rebate site), but ended on July 31st, 2013. The 24K sign up promo has not re-apppeared since then, AFAIK (and I have been waiting to cancel and re-apply). At 8K, it is not worth the application's credit hit.

I applied Nov 11 or so, and according to my Mileageplan statement, I got the bonus miles on the 16th. I didn't have an account prior to this so I had no idea what my number was until I actually received my card though.

Sir Psudes,

Wife and I each applied for the MBNA Alaska Air MC at end of summer 2013. If I recall correctly, the points post to your Alaska account AFTER your first MBNA statement generates (i.e., similar to the AMEX AeroPlus, CIBC AeroInfinite, Chase Marriott VISA, MBNA Best Western MC and MBNA Choice Privs MCs cards). Only the AMEX Rewards are fast to post, without requiring a statement to generate first.

Now, having said that, the points did not appear in my wife's account for nearly 3 months, due to MBNA assigning the points to a WRONG Alaska Air account, even though we know we input her correct account number based on our screen dumps. After we contacted MBNA, they sorted it out very quickly, in about 10 days, and we saw the points in her Alaska account...which means they COULD post them without waiting for another statement to generate, go figure!

*edit* - based on crimsona's post above, appears the points post within a week?

So anyway...unless you run into this snag, you should get the points within 2-4 weeks, likely depending on when the MBNA bill generates.

Whoops...ok, so ignore my post above. I thought points post, based on the bill statement.

Whoa, so that's faster than SPG then!

Ok, I will apply rather than transferring SPG (ahh, how little regard we have for our credit histories these days).

Thanks!

My wife and I each applied for the card a few months ago, and I think that the points were there immediately after approval. Didn't even have to use the card before the points appeared. Apply through Great Canadian Rebates to bring down the cost.
