Would the old card you just cancelled (just like the grandfathered CO Presidential Platinum cards which offer flex EQMs based on spend thresholds) not have been beneficial in holding?

You can try calling them again or sending a secure message to ask. But as this is still a targeted offer, the 40k is public, they may not bump you all the way to the 60k (50k after 1st purchase).

Chase was once great about "bumping" a bonus but ever since the Sapphire 50k -> 100k they have been less willing to do it.

Not for me - as far as I can see. The only travel I (we) do anymore is on award tickets earned from credit cards mostly - I don't have the opportunity to build up enough EQMs with one airline - and the annual fee was coming due!

Only United Select Visa card lets you have this benefit. Not sure it's still available for new applicants. This card offers triple miles on UA purchases, double miles in Star Alliance, dining and grocery purchases, and 1 PQM match per each $1 spent on united.com up to 5K per year (believe only paid tickets count). I love the card.

Please allow 2 4 weeks from your credit card account anniversary date each year thereafter for delivery. Club passes cannot be shipped to PO Boxes or addresses outside the 50 United States and Washington D.C. To qualify for this bonus offer, your credit card account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment. Valid when presented at any United Club location. Each pass is valid for one (1) guest for one (1) visit. United Club representatives will retain this certificate. No cash value. Cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. All United Club membership guidelines apply. Chase is not responsible for offer fulfillment. "
Please! Does someone have a screen print of these Terms & Conditions they could send me? Chase is claiming I won't get the passes until the anniversary date. I am 100% positive I applied for the offer quoted above as I read it mulitple times before applying. My only screen shot was of the splash screen and it does not indicate recieving passes after account opening. Damn I should have screen printed the T&C's!!!

I know you folks would probably feel better having a copy - but I, and many others applied when the T&C said specifically we wouldn't get the passes until the anniversary date - yet we still got them about 4 months after we opened the card.

I applied via the method described earlier, got approved, and the agent confirmed when I called to activate the card that I would receive the "60,000-mile" offer.

I just talked to the front-line Chase CSR re: my wife's OnePass-turned-UA Explorer card, and they wouldn't offer her anything, nor did they offer a transfer to the retention department. Said we were trying to narrow down the number of cards she has with annual fees, between the UA and BA cards.

Do I need to expressly ask for a transfer to retention? Are we stuck for this year because we didn't call before she paid the annual fee (in January or so)?

Yes, call and request the retention department. Front-line CSRs don't really have the power to offer you anything not to cancel.

My husband just got approved for this card over the weekend. Today he got an email confirming that he'll receive the card in 5-7 days. In also recapped the terms in the email, including the part about getting the passes after first getting the card. Check your inbox, maybe you still have it!
