Thanks!
The previous offer/deposit was around November/December 2009. I did both Fidelity and TD Ameritrade. Fidelity miles posted very quickly. TD Ameritrade miles posted 50% initially and the other 50% after six months which was in agreement with the Ts and Cs. I left the original money with both places as I wanted to invest it in mutual funds anyway. This was just a way to get some miles for doing something I was going to do anyway. My guess is that if the original money was gone they might not have done the new deal but I don't know that for sure.

The deposits were $50,000 each to get 25,000 miles for each, not $25,000 to get 25,000 miles.

An FYI for those considering the Fidelity offer.. I called last week to get the details on the program and they also noted that they have a 200 free trade offer as well for moving that kind of money into a new account. I'm not a very active trader, but they went ahead and gave me both the miles and the free trades offer.

$25K will get 20,000 Starwood points at TD Ameritrade. Since 20,000 Starwood points gets you 25,000 miles on a large number of airlines (except United or Continental), the $25,000 Starwood offer is by far the best for initial deposits of $25,000 or more.

All of the brokerage deals are listed on my website below in the Finance > Stock and Bond Brokers section.

United

FYI, United also offers the Fidelity deal, but I am not sure if the 50K option is available. I am pretty sure it is.

Does anyone know how long the money needs to stay in the account? I had hoped for 90 days or when the miles post to my United account, whichever is longer. I already received the 15K points for the initial deposit (posted within a few weeks - I was generally suprised) and am waiting on the additional 10K after transfering another $10K to the Fidelity account.

Unfortunately, the Starwood offer is only for new accounts. However, your comment did lead me to the Ameritrade offer for 25,000 miles when putting in an additional $50,000 so I did that. Thanks! (Another 25,000 miles gained from advice on Flyertalk!)

Hi all --

For anyone who opened an account with Fidelity over the past month, how long has it taken AA miles to post to your account (if they have posted yet)?

Many thanks.

And how long did you have to keep the $$ in Ameritrade? How soon did it post? Sigh, sometimes FT also makes me feel like I don't make enough $$$$ to deploy

Does Fidelity really mean lifetime per household or they makes some exceptions?

For anyone looking for some quick posting AA miles, the bonus miles posted in under 2 weeks from the completion of the deposit.

My miles posted exactly one week after calling in to tell them I had deposited/transferred the assets.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, I was able to get an exception to the "new account" rule by calling and explaining how I have been a customer for a long time, have a fair amount of assets with them, etc. Thanks FT! On my way to 1MM status soon

Just as a reminder, the bonus with TD Ameritrade to get an additional 25,000 miles with a $50,000 deposit ends at the end of this month. The offer is good for existing clients.

This sounds like a great deal for me - is there more info somewhere on it?
