I've not been banned yet...but have many IHG property stays, so, perhaps, that's why it's been a non-issue. I still check in whenever I'm near a Hilton or IHG property, although Hilton posts seem spotty at best.

MTHTravel Sep 21, 2012 8:30 am

All my accounts got banned. Well, it was fun and we all knew it would stop one day.

I don't think this is relevant, since it's almost certainly TG doing the mass banning, and I doubt they'd have access to the reservation details.

Your assumption is safe.

quick question- What am I missing? If you get shut down couldnt a perrson open new (duplicate) accounts at hilton honors, prioirty club and virgin, and register at top guest with new email address- set up checkin on auto4sq and merge loyalty accounts later?

Yes, you could certainly do that but when you merge accounts, most loyalty programs will audit them and if they determine you violate their terms (since both get points from topguest), they might just delete one or even both of your accounts -- you are taking a hugh risk here...

Not really as your old account would say "The account number is not eligible. Please refer to Terms and Conditions". Therefore you would not be earning points on two accounts. And Hilton combine accounts is straightforward just by knowing account numbers and access PINs. Whether you want to place your trust on a bunch of losers such as Top Guest is another matter...

It has nothing to do with the old account number. jobu2 suggested creating another new set of accounts - for example, a new email account, a new hhonor account with new id, a new topguest account, and a new foursquare account. After getting "enough" points from TopGuest to the new hhonor account, combine/merge the new hhonor account to the old hhonor account.

Although you could request to merge hhonor accounts online easily, an internal audit process will take place to review them, just to prevent people from getting unlimited free points from their promotions. If not, anyone could just create 1000 hhonor accounts and get 50000 hhonor points from TopGuest everyday. :D

I can still log in to topguest, but no email today.

satz Sep 22, 2012 10:05 pm

Same here, no emails today

szg Sep 23, 2012 7:46 am

Everything looks good for me.

jjkpartsman Sep 23, 2012 8:40 am

Everything still good for me also. I stopped receiving any emails around January, but points have still posted after my check ins.

phdtomd Sep 23, 2012 8:54 am

Emails for yesterday came this morning

newballs Sep 23, 2012 10:47 am

satz Sep 23, 2012 12:39 pm

+1 :)

jjkpartsman Sep 23, 2012 7:54 pm

Just was able to log in and found that none of my check ins have registered over the weekend. My ride maybe over. Will know tomorrow to see if they are just lagging behind. It was a fun ride while it lasted. Free points for just checking in.:D

abelabel Sep 23, 2012 8:05 pm

now it can log in,but look likes can not sign up

LufthansaFlyer Sep 23, 2012 8:08 pm

Check in on FRI and Sat did not result in any emails. I ALWAYS got a confirm email seconds after check in...looks like the curtain has closed on this act.

newballs Sep 24, 2012 12:34 am

I didn't see points being posted to my Priority Club account after 9/21. I guess it's over for me?

uxb Sep 24, 2012 5:29 am

I've been receiving E-mails for my check-ins at Virgin America, but have not been receiving points. My check-ins are sporadic, and not daily events. Thoughts?

UPDATE: Nevermind. Just saw the answer on page 67.

jjkpartsman Sep 24, 2012 7:06 am

All my check in's over the weekend just showed in topguest account. We will see if points post later today. If not, then the ride is truly over.

Damidgede Sep 24, 2012 7:23 am

I have been getting my points for the last week or so and no emails. As long as the points are going in, I am OK with that :D

LufthansaFlyer Sep 24, 2012 7:29 am

I had 2 emails waiting for me this morning confirming my check in and points....Seems to be working again.

fragment54 Sep 24, 2012 9:24 am

If you're new to this, you should just make a few topguest accounts and a few foursquare accounts. One loyalty program per topguest account.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Even better is using a script to snag all the points among various accounts and various programs within each account. Makes it worthwhile, whereas manual checking-in is unlikely to be worth your time unless you're okay earning the equivalent of a few dollars worth of points per hour.

ronocnikral Sep 24, 2012 1:43 pm

for those who have not been shut down, keep the faith. My checkins didn't receive an email over the weekend, but I'm back in the saddle starting this morning. If I didn't "earn" a 100 points, so be it.

jjkpartsman Sep 24, 2012 6:27 pm

All is well, 150points posted in both HH and PC accounts today. The ride is back on.

mikelat Sep 24, 2012 9:36 pm

Now when I try to login I get "Your account has been suspended". Better than before I guess. still sucks :(

newballs Sep 25, 2012 9:53 am

"Ruby on Rails application could not be started"

Didn't even try to log in. The website itself seems to be down.

onlybeef42 Sep 25, 2012 12:23 pm

Up on the site now:

TOPGUEST

We're taking a short break.

We suggest you do the same.
Make yourself a cup of tea.
Give an old friend a call.
Or even better, write a letter.
This shouldn't take too long.
See you soon xo

Bluewave22 Sep 25, 2012 6:09 pm

I've been going good for the better part of a year now using foursquare plugins on various browsers. Multi checkins per day with no problem. Just my two cents for those still looking to squeeze the last few drops out.

When I tried to log on, I got notice my account had been suspended- no points since 9/12. Oh well- it was nice while it lasted. My main checks were at a Holiday Inn on the way to work and a Doubletree at lunch on the way home. Oh well.
