Do not call the airlines under any conditions! This is the fastest way to kill the trick and bring unwanted attention to your itinerary! And do not post precious deals in this thread, this is by far the fastest way to kill the trick!
************************************************** ******
This is NOT the right place to ask: "Can you help me with a low fare for AAA-BBB?" This is not the beg-it thread, but the trick-it thread.
This thread deals with unique combinations of routes and booking tricks in order to lower prices on airline fares. Prices that would astound the general public are often achieved by the posters in this thread.
Many people, including airline representatives, monitor this thread. For that reason, it is unorganized, very content heavy, often lacking details, and written in shorthand. It takes patience and effort in order to understand the conversation and be able to participate as an active member.
We encourage you to read the entirety of this thread if you would like to get started and to experiment as soon as you understand the gist of Trick It. Lots of time spent reading, practicing, and learning is the only way to be able to reproduce our tricks and discover new ones yourself. There are many, many people who ask for advice here, so productive members are only able to help those who have shown a concerted effort and progress over a long period of time (months).
If you have no idea what this thread is about, a good place to start are various blogs' posts on the subject. At the very least, read the Rules for posting in this thread. They're also listed in the very first post, below.
Older portions of the thread have been separated into archive thread by year. They are listed below

There is no hiding the fact that this thread’s language is acerbic and the mood acrimonious. Most of the advanced or expert fuel dumpers have invested a huge amount of time polishing their tricks and they see a bleak landscape. The vast majority of hackers do not monetize their skills – they do not blog, publish digests or sell tricks. Some do, and they may have a questionable agenda.
Lots of us consider this a fascinating hobby and we wish for it to continue as long as possible. For that reason, we do not want to share any trick publicly in an open forum. Those who beg for tips and hints often are scolded and considered lazy. The standard reproach is read the thread more and learn. Get lost.
However, there are some posts that are genuine cries for help. A guy who spent hundreds of hours reading the thread is stuck and wants a push in the right direction. Unfortunately, he is greeted with the same message – read more. When in a hole, dig deeper. It’s an infuriating answer but it is an understandable answer. No offense but no one wants to talk publicly. It’s gotten to the point when even friends tell each other to shut up and keep quiet.
If you seriously want to discuss Fuel Dumping intelligently, we will have to vet each other and discuss underground. That’s the only way I see this moving forward. Some of us can get together and find a way.

Its not good enough unfortunately to just copy/paste the lingo and think that's all that it will take to have people help you here which is a direct result of the volatile nature of the hobby. When tricks are alive and well for an extended period of time its because they're being used and discussed responsibly and often times the same tricks are killed as a result of some knucklehead shouting from the rooftops that they've found an 'error fare' or some other miraculous discovery when in actual fact they stumbled across something which has been carefully managed and we all know the common end result...

Strictly for newbies - I have been playing around with FD for few weeks now and have found few working strikes myself. If you are willing , PM me and we can collaborate .

Hint
A major carrier has gotten its combinability rules royally screwed up.
Generically similar to what KLM did 5 years ago where you could combine C2-C3 with C1-C2 and dump the entire package with double strike, except this one is of the Cx-Cy Cz-Cq double huge open jaw variety and only 1 strike.
This one is definitively not for myopic rule jockeys but only for the adventuresome with travel flexibility.

Hey Noobs, Here's How to help yourselves.
Dear Newbie,
Please take this message positively. I am not trying to insult you. I am only trying to show you how to help yourself instead of "begging" for more hints.
When you see a post like:
Los Angeles to Johannesburg $ 386.56 All-in R/T which loves yellow via Europe with 3X on carrier.
The first thing you really should do is use a tool like Expertflyer (or better a GDS like Sabre) and display the Base Fares for the city-pair.
Bear in mind that real tax that cannot be dumped is about $60-70 easily.
So if someone tells you he found a dump at $380 then look at base fares below $300 (because Base Fare and Real Taxes are not dumpable).
After you get the base fares, then look at the COMBINABILITY Rules to check for EOE permitted.
Then you can concentrate on the carriers' fares that are possibilities.
Here's an example for LAX-JNB:
It is obvious you want to dump the lowest Base Fare that allows EOE.
I am not salesman for EF or any GDS. But if you are serious about this hobby and don't want to beg, then please invest in one. Then you can rely on PM for the actual trick.
You can keep FD underground more this way.
OK good luck.

Reconfirmation
Reconfirmation is not mandatory for Ethiopian airlines except when the trip is wholly within the domestic Ethiopian route. Customers whose itinerary is wholly within the domestic break their journey for more than 72 hours are required to reconfirm their flight.

For people in c1 who are looking for a GDS, consider getting Sabre for 45$/month:
http://www.sabretravelnetwork.com/ho...elector/remote
Click on "without a host agency", meaning you won't be able to issue any tickets yourself but you can do anything else but issue tickets, so its perfect for research purposes and to learn about the air sector.
