Do not call the airlines under any conditions! This is the fastest way to kill the trick and bring unwanted attention to your itinerary! And do not post precious deals in this thread, this is by far the fastest way to kill the trick!

************************************************** ******
This is NOT the right place to ask: "Can you help me with a low fare for AAA-BBB?" This is not the beg-it thread, but the trick-it thread.

This thread deals with unique combinations of routes and booking tricks in order to lower prices on airline fares. Prices that would astound the general public are often achieved by the posters in this thread.

Many people, including airline representatives, monitor this thread. For that reason, it is unorganized, very content heavy, often lacking details, and written in shorthand. It takes patience and effort in order to understand the conversation and be able to participate as an active member.

We encourage you to read the entirety of this thread if you would like to get started and to experiment as soon as you understand the gist of Trick It. Lots of time spent reading, practicing, and learning is the only way to be able to reproduce our tricks and discover new ones yourself. There are many, many people who ask for advice here, so productive members are only able to help those who have shown a concerted effort and progress over a long period of time (months).

If you have no idea what this thread is about, a good place to start are various blogs' posts on the subject. At the very least, read the Rules for posting in this thread. They're also listed in the very first post, below.

Long time lurker, please be gentle. I have a rough idea of things.

When travelling C2 - C1, can the UK pax charge be dumped?

Mods - I can edit.

Yes, by not traveling through the UK.
Otherwise, no; it's called fuel dumping for a reason.

Or by departing from a specific place in the UK. This can even lower the fare of some well known ex-LON dumps

Need Help for C1-C5 on EK

YQ is $620 out of ~$1000. Have tried most options, but adding any x3 increases tix massively. or is it that EK is just so nicely locked down?

Would appreciate any help.

Hi,

I've been reading up tons on this but still having trouble successfully dumping a fare.

The base is $1039 and surcharges are $514.

Routing is C2-C1-C2. And it's an open jaw.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The only way to cut on EK is by routing via FNJ.

True, but you'll be held for "withholding YQ funds from the great leader" and sentenced to 15 years hard labour.

Europe to South East Asia as 1X

Europe to South East Asia 1X ( usable and desirable ) can used for a C1-C3 itinerary, mutually eliminating YQ from both the 1X and the Main Itinerary.

This one could have been helpful to Marco Polo and even to Vasco da Gama.

[ Some blogs describe cheap flights from C1 to AKL. It is very easy however to get it cheaper, $604.89 (ITA) and $598.36 when going from one meta-search to one popular OTA. ]

This one is gone, but there is something new and better, C1 - AKL, at selected dates. $409.66 (ITA and airline web page, too), I believe it can be optimized.

Got 54 dollars back on a 3x

Interesting story today. I booked my first FD 3x and the OTA called the next day saying it was not confirmed due to a pricing issue.

I was thinking the jig was up, until the agent was like oh it went down 54 dollars and that will go back to your card. 3x FTW. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻👍🏽😁
