ED: According to the San Francisco consulate, If you stay in Airport Transit zone NOT crossing Russian boarder through immigration control Transit visa is NOT required for you.

Good find for DL folks based in Europe, but not useful for those of us in the states. It's very expensive to get to FCO and home from CDG
