Not looking forward the news I'm expecting today. How is it a mistake fare if EK sold me a non-mistake fare 1400 RT J CAI-LAX...this seems like an airline can now just claim anything is a mistake.
They are probably starting to cancel in their own ticketing system first and will get to the others soon. I booked on AMEX Travel and it is still good.
Can anyone report calling up VA and their response to cancelling the ticket? I feel like taking this to the industry ombudsman here in Australia but am afraid of wasting my time.

Same here, seems like this shouldn't take them that long though, how many bookings could there have been?
Booked 3 (2 w/Expedia, 1 w/AMEX)- all VA stock. Keeping my fingers crossed 1 goes through but all my NZ tickets were canceled and 7 of 8 AZ (from last disaster)- not optimistic.

I'm already have award to Oz but I made it a few months ago. I need to add on a leg to NZ but that is free + cost of taxes to continue to NZ. I just picked days that worked for my return.

the ombudsman is a paper tiger and fair trading doesnt touch travel.
so any Australian Airline can do as they please charge us for mistakes, but walk away from theirs
