Made a bunch of refunadable hotel bookings.

What is the safest place or neighborhood to stay in Guayaquil? If you stay by Heathrow is getting into downtown London easy?

Assuming you're very close to LHR, then yes, it is. Around 20 mins on the Heathrow Express train service into Paddington station : about as straightforward as it gets (provided it's not having a bad day).

Easily ? Sort of, but not fast: by bus to the airport (free if the hotel is within a defined range) then underground (so-so) or Heathrow Express (fast but expensive).

Why do all he hotels at LHR not have hotel shuttles and ask you to take local buses?

Free or paid buses

There is a paid shuttle bus service,or if your not a lazy person just walk out of your hotel, cross the road and get a Free bus to the central area at LHR.
Some hotels are the other side of the motorway, this involves taking the paid shuttle bus service.
Heathrow hotels don't provide a free shuttle bus service.

I am completely unfamiliar with hotels at LHR. I saw something about different bus companies, and free shuttle services. I’m staying at the Hilton Garden Inn, and at ibis. Can one just take a taxi or is figuring out these shuttles fairly easy?

Why not ask in the UK/Ireland forum, where you will get better advice, rather than cluttering up this thread with your personal requests for travel advice?

Either you have been lucky, or you cancelled before the CC payment was still in pre-authorisation so you haven't really been charged yet anyway. Officially it's call centre only. https://www.britishairways.com/trave...e/public/en_gb

My apologies. I know technically this information is not suppose to be in this thread, but I’ve always found that with mileage runs to foreign places any information about the destination and origin can be very helpful to people who are taking the run. For example on my flight to Changsha, China it was much appreciated to know as a white westerner what I was suppose to expect.

Surely this should be the ChiQuito Fare - to at least encompass something Ecuador related

(I named the Sake & Pho Fares on FT...so don't take my naming role )

He should have. All international flights have to go through customs in the US, whether you are connecting or not.
