again I found more people who CLAIM that they were successfully get their ticket revived.
4 of them said they already flew without any problem and even got a transit hotel at ADD. Another 2 claim to fly soon in Jun.
These comments I found on local social exchange and no one upload a pic or any proof so far...

My èxpedia booking is still live and there has been no communication.
So I called ET Delhi office to today to ask if anything is wrong with my ticket as it says that it cannot be exchanged online.
So she immediately said, please come to their office for credit card verification. The ticket is not ok to fly.
But then almost immediately a pause, and put me on hold. And then after 1 min, she said please write to [email protected] to ask what is wrong with the ticket.
I asked her again if she can see what is the problem. And she said no...
I think this is a gone case. I am going to initiate through expedia to either full refund without penalty or see if I can negotiate for reissuance on a shorter sector BKK-ADD-BKK but in J class only. Let's see.

Just received the below after I emailed them asking where my refund was since the booking was cancelled. Clowns.
Please be informed the card holder should verify the card either during check-in time at the airport or by appearing in person to the nearby Ethiopian office before departure date.
If you are planning to cancel your ticket, you have to contact your travel agent after your card is verified. You can contact our office in Cairo by the address below

cancelled my 2 bookings
finally cancelled the 2 bookings I made on this, didn't wanna wait around to find I don't get the same special treatment the blogger Matthew did, because probably won't. I've got miles saved up on AA and AS to use on CX to get home if I were to be stranded, but I'd gladly take the $770x2 cash instead.
So I got refunded to my Amex in June and July for the 2 separate refund requests to the WORNG FARE email, and without any communication from them at all, just saw the refunds posted.
Anyway, turns out I profited $5 in June and $7 in July for the refund requests, and Amex hasn't clawed back the MR I earned from the purchases either. Not bad eh?

he did get IDB initially... so even if this were to repeat, one has to prepare to not fly as originally ticketed, which is not useful for most people who are not from BKK.
