We just hit an ATM at the airport. But then again, that's my standard procedure everywhere.....

Isn't this fare over 6 CPM. Why isn't it in the good deals thread?

Now I checked the same flights between LAX-EWR r/t only (w/o EWR-IST) and the cheapest fare is $673
I misunderstood, I thought you traveled in March already. Means I overpaid by $ 60.00

As a newbie, I hate to sound stupid, but where do I find a "good deals" thread? It's been referred to in this thread.

On UA's website I saw during the weekend half the day roughly double the price ($1200+) EWR ->IST all dates Sept through November and then in the latter part of the day it dropped back to the ~$650 rate. After the second hike, I thought it was gone permanently so apologies for the fare gone posting. UA seems to keep recycling it. After the fare drop happened the second time, I went ahead and booked two direct L, upgraded to economy plus for 9/22 to 9/29, also using UA CC bonus miles from Mrs. Outoftown's account for the two connecting flights to EWR from RDU (40,000 + $20 total extra). Not a pure MR, but I've had good luck booking MR postings as vacation trips.

Fare Breakdown
Airfare: 369.00 USD
U.S. Customs User Fee: 5.50
U.S. Immigration User Fee: 7.00
U.S. APHIS User Fee: 5.00
U.S. Federal Transportation Tax: 33.40
September 11th Security Fee: 2.50
Turkey Airport Service Charge: 15.00
Fuel Surcharge: 252.00
U.S. Passenger Facility Charge: 4.50
Per Person Total: 693.90 USD

The $369 airfare is about as good as it will get. I don't see the fuel surcharge going down anytime soon, so I bit.

Connection Time in IST 1:35 for pure mileage run

If I book a flight that arrives in IST at 12:20pm and departs 1:55pm in the same day--that's 1 hour and 35 minutes. Would I be able to make this happen? Would I need to go through customs/security and get boarding pass on this time frame?
