Thanks for the info nacho. So, if I become a Rewards member, when I book on the Marriott website I can use the megabonus to get 1 night free if I book 2 nights during my stay?

Here is the info from the online agency, that I might use for the LNF comparison:

<<We sell hotel reservations in two different ways:-

i) as merchant hotels which we sell to you as principal; and

ii) as retail hotels which we sell to you as agent these can be recognised on the website as hotels where your hotel bill will be payable upon checkin/checkout directly to the hotel.

For all retail hotels, we act as an agent on your behalf and we will dispatch a confirmation invoice to you which shall confirm your booking with the hotel. The hotel will debit payment from you for the accommodation at the time of checkout. You will be advised of all such amounts during the booking process.>>

I'm a little concerned that the LNF will fail, as it's an advance purchase with pre-payment. The website says cancellation is through them and not the hotel. I suppose the only way to find out is to book and send in the lower price to customer services.

Stay= check in and out, but not to the same hotel. There are also other types of bonus available, such as for every 12 nights you stay you can get 25000 points (points required 1 night in JW Seoul).

However with the rate you book you can redeem a cat 2-3 hotel for 1 night, so it's attractive to get the LNF rate.

The rate you found has a 1 day cancellation policy, so why don't you try booking it when it's 9am US Western time today and wait 22 hours before cancelling your reservation if it doesn't go through?

LNF always reply within 24 hours.

Downtown Chicago Memorial Day Weekend

I'm planning a stay in downtown Chicago from May 23-May 27 (Memorial Day weekend). I have a terrific rate at the Hard Rock for $129/night but I would prefer to stay at a Marriott property if I can find a competitive rate. Any suggestions for a downtown Chicago Marriott property <$150 per night? BTW, I'll be traveling with a platonic companion so a room with two beds will be needed.

Planning to stay in NYC March 3 for one night and would like to stay centrally at any of the locations in Manhattan. I'm open for recommendations, target would be to get a nice deal for under $200 after LNF.

Thanks!

Looking for a hotel in Anaheim CA (close to Disneyland) for 3/1-3/4. I see some cheaper rates for the Courtyard, but the cancellation policies are slightly different. Thanks!

Close to Disneyland in what sense? Driving, walking, taking a tourist bus?

None of the best priced Marriott hotels are within walking distance. The simplest (no LNF required, at least if you're a AAA member) to find are the Fairfields a half dozen miles away in Placentia (free parking for elites, otherwise $5) or Anaheim Hills (free parking for everyone). AAA rates in the mid-$80s are common there.

If a mile or so south of Disneyland with $8 self-parking (not aware of waiving for elites, since I haven't stayed there yet) would be ok, you have PM that will help with that.

Oh well, I found a cheaper total price by $42 for six nights, but the actual room rate was very slightly higher at $3.16 for the six nights. I have found a cheaper price by 3c. Presumably that's something they could rely on, but not me.

If I find a new lower price, should I reply to the email from the look team or raise a new claim? Also, can I file multiple claims?

Ugh, find another slightly lower price and it changes ever so slightly above the Marriott price overnight

If the reservation is made within 24hrs, then you can just reply their e-mail and tell them about another site. If it's after then you need to make a new reservation and file a claim.

If you find more than 1 site that has a lower rate, you can mention it in your claim.

I suppose I could roll my booking over, presuming they don't charge me until after the 24 hours. I might get done by FX on my credit card otherwise.

I don't think the 3c would've worked and the other site went up slightly in a few hours, so the LNF team could've got onto the website after the price changed. I need some foreign exchange fluctuations
